Tim Hotlz Masks, Scrapbook paper and Stamps used for Retirement ATC

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

This is a retirement ATC card that I made for a friend who retired this year from OFB. Our ATC group at work decided it would be fun to create cards for her before she left our group. Even though she has continued to participate in the swaps since she has been home.

I used a Stampabilities stamp for the text and scrapbook paper that was laying on my work table to create this ATC. I love the Tim Holtz mini masks, these are perfect for ATC’s or other small art projects. I used the mask to get the swirl in the background along with distressing ink and a homemade blending tool. The flowers are from Prima and in the center is Tulip Glitter paint.

I captured the creation of this card on video I hope you enjoy watching the creative process, as I create the card on the fly…

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to ask questions,  I love to share what knowledge I have with others.

Make today a great day!

Horse ATC

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

The following ATC was for the OFB ATC swap group, the theme was Farm Animals and I chose to use Horses as my “farm animals”..

I used a standard size ATC blank to make my card which is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. The stamp of the horses is by PSX. I love using water color pencils and a water brush. The clouds and grass stamps are from D.O.T.S. now known as Close to My Heart. I love using Tim Holtz distressed inks for shading. The glitter is a t-shirt paint by tulip, I found that it is very inexpensive and it dries with a very pretty glitter effect on paper.

Although in the video I speed up the water color portion it only took about 10 minutes to make this ATC once I had all of the supplies out on my work table. I think that this could also be a great starting point for other cards as well, could be a great greeting card or book mark.. I hope you enjoy the info I shared here today..

Thanks for stopping by, please feel free to share your thoughts on this ATC. What kind of ATC’s do you make? Who do you like to make ATC’s for?

Blessings

Collage ATC

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

The OFB ATC challenge was to create a collage. I decided to use some of my scraps to make a collage sheet and then cut that up to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card)..

Video where I walk through the process and make the ATC:

This is one of those fun techniques that is easy and once you create a page you can use it for more than one piece of art. Just cut out or off what you need for the project. I will use strips of the parent sheet to make a framed art or a greeting card.. and it looks like I spent a lot of time creating a one of a kind art..

Have fun with this technique. Please share your creations. I love seeing what others come up with..

Make today a great day!

Johnny Depp / Captain Jack Sparrow ATC

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Artist Trading Card for the OFB ATC group. Theme: Johnny Depp.

I choose to use a character from one of the movies: Captain Jack Sparrow… I just love his character in the Pirate movies.. I downloaded an image from a website and printed on cardstock. Scrapbook paper was used as the background. I’m loving the Tim Hotz mini masks and the Distress Inks. I love how versatile the distress inks are for artwork.. A Skull stamp from Inkadinkado. But I didn’t stop there…

The below video shows everything I did, I hope you enjoy watching. :)

Thanks for stopping and for watching.. If you have questions, please feel free to ask, as I love to share what knowledge I have with others.

Make today a great day!

4 Challenge – Eyelets

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

The challenge for this art was to use eyelets. Even though you may not be able to see them I used two. lol.. Both are in the oval chipboard and are lavender in color.

In this piece I created a 6 by 6 inch art using scrapbook papers, chipboard, Prima flowers, Adirondack Color wash and rubber stamps. Included in this art is one of my handmade butterflies – made out of polymer clay. It took about 35 minutes to make this art piece, once I had all of the materials gathered.

My recipe for glimmer mist: Future Floor Polish and Pearl Ex I mix in an old spray bottle and put in about a teaspoon of Pearl Ex and test how it looks, if it needs more shimmer I add more Pearl Ex. lol

This time I decided to make a kit of the items I used in this art and offer it for sale.

In the Kit:
Two 6 inch by 6 inch Background papers – Treasure and Plaid
Two 6 by 6 Cardstock papers – Pink and Purple
One cardstock 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 – Exact Ice

One 5.95 inch by 5.95 inch chipboard for back

One template to punch holes in the back to hang the art
