Have you tried your hand at making Altered Paper Clips? These make a great gift to add to a greeting card. Could even be the focal point on a greeting card. When they get the card they can remove the clip and use where ever they like.

For now, I think I’ll keep one in my Happy Planner to help mark my place and I might be persuaded to give the others a new home. 😉

Happy Mail & Poodles of Fun Altered Paperclip

It’s Happy Mail & Poodles of Fun Altered Paperclip time. I’m a little behind on sharing my Happy Mail. But I got these awesome pens from Chameleon and I love them! I also got some stamps from Fleurette Bloom.

Happy Mail & Poodles of Fun Altered Paperclip

My husband surprised me for Valentines Day and ordered the Chameleon Pens. He got the 52 pen set. So far I’m loving these pens. I still have a lot to learn about them. Be on the look out for lots of projects where I use these Chameleon pens. Found the downloadable documents and these are so very handy. Check these out here.

The other things I got were Stamps and sequins from Fleurette Bloom. I won a drawing on their Facebook page! That was exciting! They gave me $10 to use in their store. It was hard to choose only a couple of things. But I did manage to find a few things I loved. Picked up the Poodles of Fun set and the Sugar Skulls set. Also got some pretty Rainbow Bliss Delight sequins.

Since I got all these fun goodies I decided I should make something! An altered paperclip for my Happy Planner.

How to make Simply Spring Happy Planner Journal Spots

Measure the pockets then cut pink card stock to fit into the pockets.

With the Brutus Monroe Detail Ink apply to the Botanical Background stamp. Stamp pink card stock.

Spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Vintage Pink, dry with heat tool.

Select four of the images from the Calico Collage Spring Elegance Digital Collage Sheet trim. Apply Brutus Monroe Detail Ink around the edges.

Choose words to decorate cards. My words were either printed or stamped and stored in a box for projects like this one. Use the Tim Holtz Diestress Ink Picked Raspberry to apply color to words. Run words through Xyron Sticker Maker.

Die cut Rinea Foil with the Butterfly Die. Use Xyron Sticker Maker to make into a sticker.

Apply Aleens White Glue to Image and then place on Pink card stock. Arrange the Butterfly and word on two of the cards. Cut a scrap of Rinea Foil for the other two cards, round corners and arrange on cards along with words.

Place the cards in the pocket holder and into Happy Planner. These are now ready to write any journal notes.

How to make A Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip

Today I’m sharing How to make A Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip. Using Rinea Pink Embossed Foil and Calico Collage Simply Spring Charms Digital paper. Great Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip to add to an art journal, Happy Planner or to mark your place in a book.

How to make A Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip

Supplies used to make a Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip:
Pink Embossed Rinea Foil
Calico Collage Simply Spring Charm Images
Jumbo Paper Clips
Two Pink Card stock scraps cut at 1 inch square
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry
Brutus Monroe Detail Ink
Prima Flowers in Pink
Pink Yarn
Tulip Glitter paint
Aleene’s White Glue

How to make A Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip

Using a scrap of Pink Embossed Rinea Foil, cut to 1.5 in. x 3 in. Fold in half then slide through the closed side of the paper clip. Adhere with Aleene’s White Glue.

Apply Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry to the edges of the 1 inch Pink Square card stock scraps.

Select two Calico Collage Simply Spring Charm Images and cut from collage sheet. Add Brutus Monroe Detail Ink around the edges. This will hide the white edge where the paper was cut.

Adhere the Simply Spring Charm Image to Pink Square and then to Rinea Foil with Aleene’s White Glue.

Select three pink flowers and glue in place on the lower left corner of image. Add drops of glitter glue to centers of flowers.

Tie bow with pink yarn and adhere to right side of image.

Once the glitter glue has dried repeat on the other side of Rinea Foil.

Here is a video of How to make A Simply Spring Embellished Paperclip.

I love how these turned out. This is a great way to use up scraps of paper and add a pretty embellishment to projects. My plan is to make more of these and give as gifts inside greeting cards.

A few of these will end up in my Happy Planner to mark pages and to just look pretty.
