Coloring book page into Junk Journal Page

Continuing on the Fairy Garden Junk Journal Series. I love finding new ways to use items in my stash. For this project, I came up with the idea of Coloring book page into Junk Journal Page. For my project the page was uncolored, but a colored page can be used too! Adding images from the Fairy Garden digital journal kit from Calico Collage helped to tie it into the journal I’m making.

Super quick video tutorial on Coloring book page into Junk Journal Page.

Cut the coloring book page out of the book. I like to cut the height the same as my other journal pages. Then on one of the sides, fold over about 2 inches to create a pocket. Using Aleene’s Tacky glue adhere the top and bottom of this pocket in place.

Cut the images from the Fairy Garden digital journal kit. Use Vintage Photo Distress ink around the edges of the paper. Assemble the envelope using a glue stick. Make sure that you don’t glue the envelope closed.

Add the journal cards and envelope to the pocket and it is ready to be added to the junk journal.

Look at the things you may already have differently. Those coloring pages from the kids would make great pages in a junk journal. Have fun making your own.

Fairy Garden Altered Paperclip and Tuck Spot

Here is another video from the Fairy Garden Junk Journal I’ve been working on. This is the Fairy Garden Altered Paperclip and Tuck Spot I created for the journal. I created these as kits for a workshop and it seemed to go over nicely. They liked that I had all the elements picked out and ready to go. Being organized while creating junk journals really makes it so much easier.

Here is the tutorial video showing how to make the Fairy Garden Altered Paperclip and Tuck Spot.

Once the images are printed and trimmed down to size use Vintage Photo around the edges. Apply vintage photo to the edges of the ticket, label heart and words.

Use a glue stick to adhere the domino image and the floral image. Snip a piece of eyelash yarn and place it on the images and then use Aleene’s Tacky glue to adhere the words and heart.

Add the flowers and that completes the Fairy Garden Altered Paperclip and Tuck Spot.

If you don’t have the tools to make the shapes, find things around the home to use as a template and hand cut the shapes. This is what I did for years until I got the cutting tools.

Book Page Altered Paperclip

I’m always looking for new ways to use book pages from books. Today I’m sharing a Book Page Altered Paperclip. Using the Fairy Garden Domino image from Calico Collage, Distress Ink, Aleen’s Tacky Glue, the No Clog Writing Cap from ScraPerfect and more I share how to make a Book Page Altered Paperclip.

Supplies and tools used for making the Book Page Altered Paperclip

After collecting the supplies I created a video showing how I made the Book Page Altered Paperclip.

Isn’t this the cutest altered paperclip? So easy to make and makes a great embellishment for a Junk Journal or to add to a book. Make a lot to give as gifts, pop one inside a card for the recipient to use in their book.
