You’ve gone and done it now

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

So my friends you’ve gone and done it to me now. I’m on a drawing kick.. I’ve been trying to draw something every day. I decided to look around on the web yesterday for images for inspiration and found an image of Hayden Panettiere that I liked. She had her hands on her hips and I thought it was kind of sassy. So taking a little artistic license I used that image as an inspiration to create a drawing.

Hayden was wearing a T-Shirt and shorts in the photo but I decided to have my girl wearing a dress. I’m still working on refining her look. But I want to use an image like this for a couple of projects I have in mind…

I see images differently now. I’m looking at the shadows that the light creates. I’m seeing things that I didn’t see before and I’m learning.

What have you learned lately about the world around you? Have you found a way to incorporate what you see into your art? It is never too late to learn something new. Just decide what it is you want to do, and before you know it you have gone and done what you want to do that is new!

Pink Skulls ATC

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

The following ATC was made for the OFB Swap group.. The theme was Skulls so I decided to go a little punk rock and use some pink paper and bling… lol..

There are three layers of pink paper, then I punched a pink star and placed rhinestones on the tips. The skull is a stamped image and I filled in the tips of the bones with glitter and placed a pink bow in the top. The you rock is from a Studio G stamp set and I stamped the image in pink ink and then matted with another shade of pink paper.  I punched paper flowers and then used my stylist to give them a 3D look.

I thought it turned out pretty cute…

I think this could be a great girls card just make it a little bigger and use this as the front cover and put Happy Birthday inside.. Lots of ideas could be used with pink and skulls… Don’t limit yourself, you can do just about anything you want!  Have fun!

August 28 2010 Play day

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

There will be a play day at my home on Aug 28th.

Play day is open to anyone – just need an RSVP please because we are going to have a card kit making session…

Here is the idea: Create a greeting card – birthday, thinking of you or generic, then put all of the supplies together needed to make the card and bring that to my house. You will demo how to make the card and everyone that is there with kits will make the card. So if we have 6 people, make 7 kits, one to demo the other 6 for those that attend… If you want to share more than one idea please feel free to do so.. Need to know if you plan to attend by Aug 23 so that everyone can get their kits ready…

The rest of the day will be “play day” and you may bring any project you like, or you may ask me to demo any of the projects that I teach.

Need ideas for cards? check out: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/ There you can search for projects by theme, stamps or color. Just type in what you are looking for and the projects will fill your screen. Great site to get ideas…

Send an email to me if you would like to attend and I’ll send an invite to you with the address etc…

I know we will have fun!

Linda

The following cards are some that I’ve made in the past just to give an idea of what could be created for the play day. :)
