Rose Junk Journal Embellishment Kit

Love this new Rose Junk Journal Embellishment Kit I created. Since I’m making a lot more junk journals I need elements to put inside. I decided that I would make up themed kits so that when I’m working on a junk journal I don’t have to stop and make elements.

Here is a video showing all of the elements included in the Rose Junk Journal Embellishment Kit.

Purchasing dies over the years has really helped with my junk journal making. There are some dies that purchased for another reason but have worked out great for junk journal elements. Do you have items like that in your stash? Purchased with one idea in mind, but now you found that it has more ways to use than you thought? I like happy accidents like that!

Making up these kits is also a great way to use up that paper stash. Maybe I’ll get it all used up before I die. LOL One project at a time.

Creating these kits has helped me complete a junk journal faster too. Now I can pull an envelope with matching elements and just start adding into the journal.

Black and White Junk Journal Embellishment Kit

I’m going through my stash and decided I would make a Black and White Junk Journal Embellishment Kit. The paper has flocking in the black areas and it feels so wonderful to touch.

One of the things that takes a while to put together in a Junk Journal is the elements or embellishments. I like to have a stack of items ready to go so that I’m not spending a lot of time trying to make things when I want to finish a journal.

Digging around in my stash I found the paper that I got in a junk pack from Canvas Corp Brands and knew these would make beautiful elegant embellishments for a junk journal.

I’m so glad that I moved one of my sewing machines into my paper art studio. I have it on my right side ready to be used anytime. Before I would have to go into another room or move a ton of things in order to use the sewing machine.

Since the sewing machine is handy it makes it easy to sew papers together and I did so for this Black and White Junk Journal Embellishment Kit.

I also found some beautiful beaded eyelash trim in my stash. I thought it would be pretty on a tall journaling card, and I’m right. It is beautiful and adds to that tactile feeling.

There are nineteen elements in the kit. Die cut shapes which include a large butterfly and doily. Tiny punched butterflies are perfect to add to the strings in a journal or to enhance a page or make another embellishment.

Library style pocket with a journal spot is also included. I added lined notebook paper to the tag and I think it looks so elegant.

Gypsy Soul Junk Journal

Finished a new junk journal. Gypsy Soul Junk Journal made using Calico Collage Gypsy Love digital images, Lots of lace, Velvet fabric for the cover, Stamping throughout and more.

Gypsy Soul Junk Journal

This Gypsy Soul Junk Journal measures 6.5 in. x 9.5 in. with a 1.25 in. spine. There are three signatures with 8 pages in each for a grand total of 96 pages. The sheets are 8.5 x 11 inch folded in half.

Here is a video flip through of the Gypsy Soul Junk Journal.

For the pages I used the sheets I line my Tattered Angels Spray box. So there is lots of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists on all of the pages.

The lined pages are a linen paper that I printed lines on each side. I like having lines to write in my journals.

Lots of washi tape used on several elements in this Gypsy Soul Junk Journal.

I even sewed lace on several of the journal cards. Then added distressed Inks to add more color. You will find that I like bright colors in my junk journals. I’m not one for the old paper look. I want color.

Lots of sewn elements in this journal. The most I’ve done so far in a junk journal. I like using the pages out of an old book to add pockets, tuck spots etc. It is fun to figure out new ways to make a cool tuck spot in these junk journals.

When I work on a junk journal I try to use as many scraps of paper from my stash. For example, the journal cards throughout this journal are all from scraps. Some may not have made it for the final cut in the original project so these went into my scrap bin.

Many people made fun of me for keeping all of these scraps, I even sort these by color. But now I’m able to use these up in Junk Journals. The funkier the piece the better.

Recently a friend gave me a box of fabric. I decided to dig through it and see what I found. I didn’t get far into the box and I found a beautiful piece of velvet. This is perfect for the cover. Don’t you just love the feel of velvet?

Making these junk journals gives me so much joy. I love to flip through and look at all the elements. I hope that you enjoy seeing what I create too.

Measure the pockets then cut pink card stock to fit into the pockets.

With the Brutus Monroe Detail Ink apply to the Botanical Background stamp. Stamp pink card stock.

Spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Vintage Pink, dry with heat tool.

Select four of the images from the Calico Collage Spring Elegance Digital Collage Sheet trim. Apply Brutus Monroe Detail Ink around the edges.

Die cut Rinea Foil with the Butterfly Die. Use Xyron Sticker Maker to make into a sticker.

Apply Aleens White Glue to Image and then place on Pink card stock. Arrange the Butterfly and word on two of the cards. Cut a scrap of Rinea Foil for the other two cards, round corners and arrange on cards along with words.

Place the cards in the pocket holder and into Happy Planner. These are now ready to write any journal notes.
