Cricut Globe – Let it Snow

Today I’m sharing my Cricut Globe – Let it Snow project for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Challenge #293 – Snow Sponsored by Pretty Cute Stamps. Challenge this week is to have a snow theme and use at least one Cricut cut in the project.

Cricut Globe - Let it Snow

What a great time to use a snow globe than this? The globe is from the Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge. It was cut at 4.5 in. tall. The top most layer was removed as I wanted to stamp on the top layer and not have holes cut through the image.

Used Brutus Monroe snowflake stamps from the Oh Deer set. Stamped in Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Tumbled Glass and Brutus Monroe Ink Cornflower.

Brutus Monroe Stamp Set Oh Deer was used. This little fat deer makes me laugh every time I see him. Stamped with Brutus Monroe Detail Ink – Raven on a scrap of white card stock and then fussy cut. Water colored with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Cork, Tattered Leather and It’s Black. Also used White High Impact paint by Tattered Angels.

Cricut Globe - Let it Snow

VersaMark Stamp pad was mashed onto Deer image and snow globe then Ranger Clear Holographic embossing powder was applied and heat set. This gives the appearance of being inside a snow globe.

Let it Snow from Printworks Stamps was stamped in Brutus Monroe Embossing ink, embossed with black embossing powder.

Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Brushed Corduroy applied to base of the snow globe.

Cut white card stock at 4 in. x 5.25 emboss with Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder. Use Tim Holtz Disressed Ink Tumbled Glass and blending tool to add color around the edge. Mash VersaMark stamp pad to embossed image, cover with Ranger Clear Holographic embossing powder, heat set.

Blue card stock cut at 4.23 in. x 5.47 in. adhered as the first layer on a standard A2 greeting card. Layer Snowflake background. Assemble snow globe and adhere on top of embossed layer. Use pop dots to adhere Deer on top.

Video on how to make this card.

Super Fun greeting card! Love sharing this Cricut Globe – Let it Snow. Hope you enjoyed seeing how it was made. If you would like to purchase the finished card for $10.00 including shipping click here.

Bubble Background & Embossing ATC

Sharing a Bubble Background & Embossing ATC (Artist Trading Card) from the Maremi’s Creative Cafe #52cafecards Challenge. I joined the Creative Cafe just over a month ago and have loved very minute I’ve been in the Facebook group. There are so many talented people in this group. Go and join now, you won’t be disappointed.

Marta has begun a challenge. #52CafeCards. A weekly challenge where a word prompt is given based on the alphabet that we are allowed to interpret into an Artist Trading Card.

Since this weeks prompt is Bubbles I decided to try a technique I saw on the internet a while back. Fill a bowl with water and dish soap. Blow bubbles and then spritz with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Rake your paper, or in this case the ATC through the bubbles to pick up the color. Simple enough.

Items used for Bubble Background & Embossing ATC:
Diamonds Stamp set
Sterling Embossing Powder
Embossing Ink
Detail Ink Raven
Aubergine Chalk Ink
Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist, Party Pink, Pop Rocks, Turquoise Blue
White card stock
Purple card stock cut to 2.5 in. x 3.5 in.
Pink tread
white glue
Heat tool
teaspoon of liquid dish soap
Long Straw – I used a bendy straw so that I knew which end to put in the water vs my mouth.

Here is a video of how I made the ATC.

My suggestions, Use a large bowl and use one teaspoon or more of liquid dish soap. Blow lots of bubbles. Heck if you have a kid, have them blow the bubbles for you. lol The more bubbles the better. When the spray hits the bubbles they tend to pop. So the more layers of bubbles you have the better.

Fun technique. I’ll try this again. I may even hook up a small air pump from a fish tank to make the bubbles for me! Wish I would have thought of that before my video! lol

Hope this gave you another great idea of how to make a fun ATC. Using Bubble Background & Embossing ATC sure looks good to me!

Embossing Resist Coloring Your Own Paper

Embossing Resist Coloring your own paper, did you know you can color your own paper? Well you can, with the help of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, it’s easy.

I’ve been playing with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist for a few months now and I love this stuff. Also got a new stamp set from Brutus|Monroe, Beautiful. The set has beautiful swirls around the words and lots of great images to go with the words.

Embossing Resist Coloring your own paper

Today I decided to use the You are Magnificent and the hearts to make a card. Using the Brutus|Monroe Embossing ink and White embossing powder paired with Party Pink Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

This Pink and White card turned out beautiful! In my stash I have a box of hot pink envelopes that I’m on a mission to use up. Well making this card has helped me use one more of those envelopes. In fact I made two of these cards I liked how it turned out.

I could see myself stamping out the words and hearts on several sheets of white paper and then going back with different colors of Glimmer Mists. Each card could be a different color. That is the beauty of stamping.

What colors would you use for this project? Looking at my boxes of envelopes I see that I have some purple and teal envelopes. Maybe that is what I’ll do next!

This was a very easy card to make with an embossing resist coloring your own paper. This video shows the whole process.

Share your creations. Here is how: by tagging me #lindaisrael and if you use Brutus|Monroe products use the tag #createyourownending I’ll be looking to see your creations.

Green and White Poinsettia Christmas Card

The post today is about Green and White Poinsettia Christmas Card.

Following the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown the challenge this week was to do a previous challenge from 2016. I went back through the year and looked at lots of challenges and noticed that the challenge from March 12, 2016 had few players but the colors were Green and White. I like those colors together.

Years ago I purchased the original Personal Cricut cutter. Over the years I’ve collected cartridges and upgraded the machine. For Black Friday 2016 I was able to get the Cricut Explore Air for the low price of $92.98! Because the new Cricut has a free online software I’ve been able to do so much more!

With the Cricut and all of my cartridges now linked to the software I was able to create the Green and White Poinsettia Christmas Card. I pulled in the images that I wanted to use and sized them for the front of my card. The poinsettia is from Joys of the Season Cartridge Even adding additional layers to the poinsettia since I knew that I wanted more dimension.

Green and White Poinsettia Christmas

What I really love about this machine is I get to chose what I want to cut. Choosing images for my projects is so much fun and makes each project unique.

To get the additional color and dimension I used Glitter and Glitter embossing powder. The glitter was simple holiday glitter that came in a multi pack. The embossing powder is clear with glitter. For the background I used the Filigree stamp from Stampin Up. Do you have a go to item in your studio? Well this is one of those go to items for me.

If you haven’t used a stylus tool to give dimension you really should. Flipping the flower over and pushing the stylus on the flower petals gives the flower texture. Each flower got this treatment, including the leaves.

Green and White Poinsettia Christmas Card

Once all of the texture was applied I used a direct to paper technique and applied versamark ink to a few of the flowers and the corner pieces. Then sprinkled the glitter embossing powder over the flowers, heated. When the flowers were done I then used a Zig two way glue pen to add glitter to the leaves.

Merry Christmas was stamped and embossed in Gold. Then layered onto a piece of green cardstock that had glitter applied around the edges. I also used a corner punch to add a touch of elegance.

This Green and White Poinsettia Christmas Card turned out beautiful. It is an elegant card I know anyone who receives this card will truly appreciate the work that was put into the card. They would treat it like a small work of art.

Joy 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

For this project I bring you Joy 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. The challenge this week was to use bright green and red.

Joy 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Looking through my stash of paper I found the perfect sheet of green and red card stock. Next I decided that I wanted to cut the word Joy with my New Silhouette CAMEO® 3. I’m really loving this cutter! I used the Samantha Font in Italic and cut at 1.75 in. tall.

Knowing that I wanted texture I dug through my embossing folders and found the large Cuttlebug swiss dot folder. Ranger Holographic Glitter embossing powder will help the dots stand out on the green. Next I found a wonderful diamond stamp from B-Line stamps and my VersaMark stamp pad.

Joy 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

I had a huge role of black and white ribbon so I knew that would be perfect accent. This would be attached to a white strip of paper that had a boarder punch from Martha Stewart.

Self adhesive rhinestones are the perfect final touch to add a little bling.

Of course there must be a saying on the inside. I used a stamp from Stampendous: May Your Family Enjoy a Special Season filled with Love Joy and Peace. I really like that sentiment, don’t you?

Joy 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

This was a quick card to make, in fact I have enough supplies from the two 12 x 12 card stock pieces of red and green and the one 8.5 x 11 sheet of white that I went ahead and made ten.

My hope is that you are inspired to create. That it doesn’t take a lot of fancy work to create cards. Although I may have used fancy tools, there are other things that could be used instead.  Anyone can create beautiful cards, you just need to know how.

Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media

Today is all about Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media.

The blog over at Canvas Corp Brands has a challenge this month to decorate or make a mask. #7gypsies #tatteredangels #canvascorp #ccbmaskchallenge

For this project I chose The Colombina style of mask. I was in luck in finding a great buy on the mask at Michales, it was only $2.19 by Creatology.

Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media

One of my shopping trips scored a Mixed Media pack from Canvas Corp Brands and another from 7 Gypsies. Both of these packs had the beautiful tissue paper that I used on the mask. These same shopping trips increased my Tattered Angels Shimmer spray inventory too!

Once all of the supplies were gathered it was time to create. Now is when I found myself Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media. The vision was clear. One doesn’t realize how held back and reserved they are until set free to create. Usually I create items that I know will sell. My normal goal is to make something that others will want for a practical reason. Whimsy or decorative isn’t what I go for in creating art.

Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media

Have you ever felt that what you create is because that is what the world wants? How is it that we think that is what should always be done in life? When we were kids we were told to play and create. As adults we are told to stick to the agenda, stick to the plan, don’t go outside of the lines.

Art is about what is pleasing to the artist. At least that is my opinion. Create what you enjoy. Never worry about how others will react. Do you love it and want to keep creating? Then do what you love!

Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media

When the mask was before me and I started adding all of the elements I found I was free to explore. There wasn’t a need to worry about what will happen to this when I’m done. Joy, bliss and freedom to create were the thoughts and feelings I had.

Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media

The goal was to make something that I would love, and if I was lucky the staff at Canvas Corp Brands would love it too. Inspiration has struck and I feel like making another one of these masks. Once Unmasking My Creativity Through Mixed Media has begun, there is no stopping me now.
