How to make a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter

Having joined a pocket letter group I have the opportunity to swap. So I thought I would share How to make a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter. Using Calico Collage Summer Paradise digital journal kit.

Summer Paradise Pocket Letter

Since the journal kit is designed to print as two pages for a 5 x 7 journal I decided to try and print the images as four 3.5 in. x 5 in. prints on a page. When I did this the individual pages were now small enough to fit on the front of an ATC (Artist Trading Card). These are then the perfect size for a pocket letter.

For the actual cards that went into the pocket letter, I cut several at 3.5 in. x 5 in. These pages I then folded in half and these became small booklets or cards.

Each of the images was cut to fit the papers and then I went around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Inks, Picked Raspberry.

Although the papers are beautiful by themselves I decided to add a few embellishments. I stamped a few sayings using Brutus Monroe Detail Ink – Raven from the Stampendous Life Words Stamp Set. These were then punched with a circle punch and layered onto the cards.

Also added to the cards a few Prima Flowers in various colors. These were then topped with glitter glue so that they would sparkle.

Once I had the pages decorated I started adding goodies. I used charms from my stash to add a little goodie that could be removed. And if these are removed there is still a bow that can be left in its place or if it was completely removed the card still looked great.

Here is a video of making a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter.

It was fun digging through my stash of sequins and other goodies to add to the pockets. I didn’t realize how fun it would be to make a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter.

How to make a Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card

Kittens are so cute, so I decided to put one on a greeting card. Here is a project on how to make Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card. Using the Calico Collage Painted Kittens Digital Download, Scraps of paper, Spellbinders Die, Tim Holtz ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Prima Flowers, and more.

Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card

These kitten images from Calico Collage are super cute! I just had to have these so that I could make a few projects with these images.

If you are like me when making paper crafts you want to use up all those pieces from previous projects. This is one of those projects to use up bits and pieces.

When I clean up my desk I sort the scraps by color family and place these into 12 inch x 12 inch scrapbook pockets. Then when I want to make a project that only needs a scrap I pull out these pockets. That is what I did for this project.

The background paper was left on my desk from the Bi Fold Mother’s Day card I made a few days back. I thought that the colors were perfect to go behind one of the kittens. Also from my stash was the pink cardstock, the ivory cardstock and the white cardstock.

The challenge is from Maremi’s Creative Cafe on Facebook. It is a private group, but if you follow Marta then you should be able to get into the group.

Marta decided that for 2017 she would have a very easy going challenge. #52cafecards was created. Each week or so she would give us a prompt and we could work on these when we wanted or not. We could do all 52 or only one.
