How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter

Betz Golden and I have joined together for a pocket letter swap. In this post I’ll share How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter using Calico Collage Gypsy Love digital journal kit and more.

How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter

When Betz contacted me and asked if I would like to do a pocket letter swap I said yes. It was so fun to make this for her!

Here is a video showing How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter.

For my images, I used the journal kit from Calico Collage Gypsy Soul. These images are sized to make a 5 x 7 journal. But I selected the option to print four of the journal pages on one sheet of paper at a time. Doing this created little images that fit an ATC size card – 2.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches tall.

Once all of the images were trimmed along with cards to attach I proceeded to use Distress Inks to add color to the edges.

I love adding sewing touches to projects and decided to use a zig zag stitch over some gold ribbon.

How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter

Other things I added, some large rhinestones some paper flowers by Prima and Of course Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. The shimmer on the images just makes me smile.

I also used some washi tape to add a little interest. The 7Gypsies truck is from 7Gypsies as I’m on the design team and I got one of these back in January when the new Architextures were released. These 3D stickers are awesome!

How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter

A small tag charm was made using metal tape, alcohol inks and some bits of images and paper. I love the gypsy soul feel of it.

Adding bits of washi tape, fancy trim and other items to this pocket letter was so much fun. I knew that Betz would be able to take this apart and use all the elements in other projects or she could keep the cards in the pocket letter.

There is a few pocket letter groups on Facebook check them out: Pocket Letter Pals, Pretty Pocket Letters Swaps & Inspirational Ideas and Pocket Letters For All. Join in on the fun!

To see the Pocket Letter that Betz Created check out her YouTube Video. I love everything she made and added to the pocket letter. She knew that I could use the items for other projects! Love the Elephant she sent! It is super cute. Leave some love on her video to let her know what you think about what she created.

I really enjoyed making a pocket letter for Betz. I hope you enjoyed seeing my post today on How to make a Gypsy Soul Pocket letter.

Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

Day 13 of #junkjournaljuly and I made a Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal. This could also be a prayer journal.  This one I decided to use red throughout. I pulled all kinds of scraps from my stash to make the elements in the journal.

Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

The Journal Measures 8.25 tall by 4.25 wide and has 15 sheets of paper to make 60 pages. It has four mini journals that have three sheets of paper or 12 pages.

Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

Some of the things that I used in this journal range from scrapbook paper, map, coloring book page, old bible pages, graph paper, notebook paper, mop up sheets of paper and more. I also got to use a lot of my tools, like a cool ticket punch by Little B.

I also got to use a lot of my tools, like a cool ticket punch by Little B. Using my sewing machine lets me add texture and interest to the journal too. Once washi tape wasn’t something that I used. I was annoyed that it didn’t always stick where I wanted it to stick. The newer styles stick a lot better.

Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

My stash of ribbon is finally getting more use as I’ve found that I like sewing it onto elements. I think it adds just a touch more to the project and now I can’t stop using ribbon in my junk journals.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists is one of my favorite products to use and I love how it looks in this Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal.

Rejoice Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

Another feature of this journal is the four mini journals I made using scraps of paper. I fold these in half and sewed with my sewing machine. I love how cute these turned out to be.

Gypsy Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

Still making a journal every day for my #junkjournaljuly challenge. Here is today’s project, Gypsy Travelers Notebook Junk Journal. Using Canvas Corp Home Basics papers and Calico Collage Gypsy Love images in this one.

Gypsy Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

A few weeks ago a friend gave me a large box of fabric. Some of it is really fancy like velvet, and some are simple fabrics that she used for making cosplay costumes. It was fun digging around in this box to see all the colors and textures of fabric. I picked out a small piece of crushed red velvet and knew that it would be a perfect touch on this Gypsy Travelers Notebook Junk Journal.

Sewing has always been a passion of mine. Since I learned how to sew at a very young age I really like adding sewing to projects. For the cover of this Gypsy Travelers Notebook Junk Journal, I decided to layer the Calico Collage image on top of the velvet and added some trims. Doing a zig zag stitch around the outside gives this a truly handmade feel.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists are my favorite way to change or add color to paper. I have several reams of a light green linen paper that to some isn’t that pretty. but when I add the Glimmer Mists over the paper it gives it a new life.

Making these junk journals give me joy. When I have a completed journal in my hands I just love the way it feels. Looking at the pages, feeling the texture of the elements added.

How to make a Patriotic greeting card

I’m sharing a project made for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog; How to make a Patriotic greeting card. Using Stand and Salute Cricut Cut files, Scrapbook paper Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Glitter Washi Tape and a Flag stamp I show how to make a Patriotic greeting card.

Patriotic greeting card

Having a ton of Cricut Cut files makes it very easy for me to find an image to use on a project. I’ve been collecting the images for a long time and haven’t needed to purchase any new images in a while now. lol So I’m glad that I had the Stand and Salute

Scrolling through the images I knew I found the perfect images for this Patriotic greeting card. The eagle was the first image I found. Then I found the Support our Troops and knew this was all I needed from Cricut today.

Once the images were cut I set to creating the card with my supplies. In this video, I show How to make a Patriotic greeting card.

Supply List for How to make a Patriotic greeting card
Stand & Salute Cartridge – Eagle and text
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Sapphire, Denim Blue, Red Chillies, Dazzling Diamonds
Cardstock, Red, blue and white cardstock for the card topper.
Standard A2 greeting card base
Distress Inks, Aged Mahogany, Antique Linen
Ranger Blending Tool
Pop Dots
Flag Stamp – unknown source, I’ve had it for years.
Brutus Monroe Craft Glue
Gold Washi Tape
Bling

Patriotic greeting card

Being a part of the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog helps me stretch my creativity with my Cricut. There are projects that I create that if it were not for the FCCB I wouldn’t have tried it to see how much I like using the images. Or trying new ways to use images. Make sure that you visit the blog and all the other design team members projects.

I have three of these Patriotic greeting cards in my shop. The price includes shipping.

Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

It’s a new style a Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook Junk Journal that I made today. This is a notebook that can be put inside a Travelers Notebook cover or it can be used just as it is, your choice. I have tested the size and it fits inside the Jane Davenport travelers notebook cover.

Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook Junk Journal

This journal has 9 sheets of various papers folded in half for a total of 36 pages. Several of the pages tip out or have pockets.

Some of the things used in this Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook

Calico Collage Fairy Forest
Calico Collage Spring Elegance
Brutus Monroe stamps: Wildflowers, Botanical Banners, Conservatory of Quotes, Shine Bright
Brutus Monroe Detail Ink
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists various colors to match the paper.
Impression Obsession, Inc: Lottie Collage Stamp
Acrylic Paint
Washi tape
7Gypsies Tags from a Junk pack
Die cut butterflies
Eyelash yarn
Coloring book page
upcycled envelope
Napkin pasted onto old book page
Sewing
Tim Holtz Distressed Inks
Prima Flowers
Rhinestones
Dyed seam binding using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Various stamped images on scraps of paper
Walpaper sample

This journal has a mix of papers and techniques that I decided to try out.  There are so many yummy papers in this journal, I can’t pick out my favorite but I do love the sequin paper a lot and the coloring book page was a good one too.

I did use a lot of of stamps in this journal too. My thought was the quotes would be great things to inspire while writing in this Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook Junk Journal.

What was also a lot of fun was using things that are not normally book pages – Like the wallpaper sample. Years ago when I was a member of a local Stamp Club we made lots of envelopes out of wallpaper samples. Several of us went to wallpaper stores and asked for their old wallpaper sample books. Many of these stores gave these to us for free. So I have a ton of wallpaper in my stash and it feels good to use some of this.

If you have followed me at all then you know how much I love Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Almost every page has some sprayed on the paper. The shimmer on the pages makes me happy.

Making this Fairy Forest Travelers Notebook Junk Journal is a great way for me to try new things and play with things in my stash. I hope you are inspired by my post today and get things out that you may not have played with in a while and create something. Have fun doing so.

Handmade Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal

Handmade Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal, I made using the Calico Collage digital images – Pink Grace. Also used, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Scrapbook papers,

Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal

Video Flip through of the Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal.

This handmade journal has 3 signatures of 10 pages for a grand total of 120 pages. It Measures 5.25 x 7.5 x 2 inches.

There are 9 embellished paper clips in this Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal.

For this journal, I tried to keep a theme throughout even the folded pockets that are inside. There are about 12 different folded paper pockets or tuck spots added to this journal.

So that there was plenty of room to write notes there are 4 mini journals tucked in pockets throughout this journal.

Used several different Spiritual stamps throughout.  These were stamped in either Tim Holtz Distressed ink or if black it was Brutus Monroe Detail Ink.

The smaller color printed images are also from Calico Collage – Bible Verses domino size images. I cropped three images that I felt matched the color in the Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal. These were printed as a photo sheet of nine images which made these larger than the domino images.

Other journal spots were from Calico Collage and are free to use. These were the Vintage Seed Packets, and I altered the colors to match the Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal.

I was glad to be using up more of my scraps of paper from my stash. The scraps were used in the die cut images and tuck spots in this journal.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist were sprayed on every page. I love how it gives a beautiful shimmer to the pages, don’t you?

The cover of this journal is a scrap of canvas from Canvas Corp Brands. I sprayed the canvas with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to change the color to match the journal. I did the same with the strips used as ties for the journal.

This Pink Grace Prayer Junk Journal would be a great gift to give to someone you love. You could write notes in this journal and then give it as a gift. Several of my friends have been making journals like this to give to their daughters.

Pink Grace Junk Journal

Welcome to my blog as I share a Pink Grace Junk Journal I made using the Calico Collage digital images – Pink Grace. Also used, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Scrapbook papers, and Brutus Monroe Botanical Banners Rose stamp.

Pink Grace Junk Journal

This Pink Grace Junk Journal has three signatures of 10 pages for a grand total of 120 yummy pages to enjoy. There is three fold out pages I made by adding a page out of an old book with washi tape.

For this Pink Grace Junk Journal, I stamped a lot of Rose images from my stash of stamps.

Did you know that you can edit the images from Calico Collage? Since the images come as jpg files you can import the images into a photo editing software and alter these images.

I wanted more journal cards so I cropped one of the images and then had my printer put 9 on a page. That makes these images about 2.5 x 3.5 in size and are perfect to tuck into the journal here and there.

Also used in the Pink Grace Junk Journal are some of the free downloads from Calico Collage. I altered these images by turning the dark brown around the edges pink. The images I used are the Seed packets.

There are nine pockets made from old books, three of these are from an old dictionary. I love finding ways to use these old pages that are from old damaged books.

It was fun to dig around in my stash and find scraps of paper to stamp images or die cut into shapes. Every time I make a junk journal I’m making a dent in all of this paper I’ve been saving for years.

Back in January, I picked up some hemp cord. I like using this cord for the binding of my junk journals. I used a pretty pink Hemptique Cord for the Pink Grace Junk Journal. I think I’ll be on the look out for more Hemp cord to add to my stash.

The cover is canvas from Canvas Corp Brands. This was one of the grab bags of canvas. Lots of big pieces are in this grab bag for such a low price.

Here is a flip through video of the Pink Grace Junk Journal.

Making these junk journals are a lot of fun for me. I hope you enjoy seeing what I create.

How to make a Canvas Covered Junk Journal

Have you been to Michaels and seen the Mixed Media Packs? I used one in a journal. How to make a Canvas Covered Junk Journal shows how I used this Mixed Media Pad and the canvas included.

How to make a Canvas Covered Junk Journal

A few days back I shared a shopping haul that included two of the Mixed Media Packs. There are so many wonderful papers and textures in these pads. Check out the video here.

How to make a Canvas Covered Junk Journal

For this junk journal, I truly decided to pull items from my stash. When I have scraps of paper from fished projects I save them in a storage pocket. So I pulled several of these pockets and dug through the papers. The items may not have been perfect for the original purpose and ended up in the storage pockets, but now they were perfect to add into a junk journal.

Save those pieces that you think are not perfect, you will be surprised how well these will work inside a junk journal.

The mixed media pack I used is called Frills and I found it at Michaels normally for $14.99 each. The papers are 12 in. x 12 in. cardstock. I decided that I also wanted lined papers for journaling. I used some linen papers from my stash, that I then ran through my printer and added lines. Since these papers were only 11 inches long and I wanted these to be 12 inches long I added scraps of paper and washi tape to the ends to extend the length.

Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists are such a great way to add color to the pages. I’m not one to use coffee or tea to stain the papers. The brighter colors appeal to me and Glimmer Mists are a great way to add these brighter colors to pages.

Have you ever looked at those daily flip desk calendars? The ones with beautiful images and sometimes a quote. Years ago I would get one to display on my desk at work. I saved several of those pages and these are great images to add to a junk journal.

The images from Calico Collage Flowers for my Lady Journal Tags are perfect for small journal spots. These images are ATC size measuring 2.5 in. x 3.5 in. I love the vintage images with the flowers. Mine were printed on cardstock so these make perfect journal spots.

There are three signatures with then sheets in each. That means there are 120 pages to enjoy in this journal. There are eight altered paper clips throughout the journal as well. The junk journal measures 6.75 in. x 7.75 in. with a two inch spine.

One of the tuck spots was something I learned from YouTuber PinkOddBird. She showed how to make some really cool envelope, tuck spots and I loved how those turned out so I added a few to this junk journal.

Making this journal took a while, well over 5 hours, closer to 6. I filmed at least 2 hours and condensed it down to 1 hour. Enjoy the video on How to make a Canvas Covered Junk Journal.

A close-up of the Canvas Covered Junk Journal cover.

If you only want to see a flip through of the journal I made another video just showing the goodies inside.

Unicorn Magic Junk Journal

I’m so in love with this Unicorn Magic Junk Journal. Hopefully you love it too. I used the Calico Collage Digital journal kit Unicorn Magic to make this journal along with stamps, scrapbook papers and the mop up pages when I use Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

Unicorn Magic Junk Journal

There is so much beautiful color throughout the journal. If you are a pink and purple fan, then this is a perfect color combo for you. Because doesn’t everyone love Unicorns?! Ever since I was a young girl I have loved Unicorns.

Unicorn Magic Junk Journal

When Norella the owner and creator of Calico Collage said she was making a Unicorn Kit I was super excited! I think I responding in all caps that I loved the designs.. Working with these images has given me such joy!

The journal measures 5.5 in x 7.5 in. with a 1.5 in. spine. It has three signatures of 10 sheets of paper which make 120 pages to journal or add items. There are 9 different altered paper clips throughout. I made eight pockets out of pages from old books and decorated these pockets with various colors of washi tape. Pink lace seam binding ties the journal closed.

Here is a video flip through of the Unicorn Magic Junk Journal.

When I spray items with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists I line a box with a sheet of paper. This sheet of paper is an old letterhead that belonged to my husband. The company logo changed and they told him to throw out the paper and they sent new paper to him. Well, I knew that was a waste of paper so I kept it and I used it as a mop up sheet.

The results of using this old letterhead to soak up the glimmer mists make a beautiful paper that is perfect for pages in a junk journal. I trimmed off the letterhead log as best I could. When some of the images remain I find clever ways to cover it up. In the Unicorn Magic Junk Journal, I created tuck spots. Some fo these tuck spots are long strips of paper. Some tuck spots are just enough to cover the corner.

On many of the pages, I used stamps to add more interest. I love looking at different images and colors in a journal. Adding stamps throughout helps to not leave any blank pages.

Journal making is a lot of fun. I’m really enjoying these digital kits from Calico Collage. The images that she uses in the kits are beautiful. Make sure to check out her shop to see all of the beautiful kits she offers.

How to make a Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card

Kittens are so cute, so I decided to put one on a greeting card. Here is a project on how to make Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card. Using the Calico Collage Painted Kittens Digital Download, Scraps of paper, Spellbinders Die, Tim Holtz ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Prima Flowers, and more.

Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card

These kitten images from Calico Collage are super cute! I just had to have these so that I could make a few projects with these images.

If you are like me when making paper crafts you want to use up all those pieces from previous projects. This is one of those projects to use up bits and pieces.

When I clean up my desk I sort the scraps by color family and place these into 12 inch x 12 inch scrapbook pockets. Then when I want to make a project that only needs a scrap I pull out these pockets. That is what I did for this project.

The background paper was left on my desk from the Bi Fold Mother’s Day card I made a few days back. I thought that the colors were perfect to go behind one of the kittens. Also from my stash was the pink cardstock, the ivory cardstock and the white cardstock.

Watch this video to see How to make a Shabby Chic Kitten Greeting Card.
