Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals

I’m really on a roll when it comes to Junk Journals. Today I’m sharing Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals that I made using Calico Collage Sweet Elegance Digital Journal Kit.Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals

In my stash, I have a large supply of really nice heavy handmade watercolor paper that is cut to about 6.5 in. x 12 in. These are nice and heavy perfect for a small Junk Journal Cover. I cut the paper to be 6.25 in. x 10.5 inches and used one of the journal pages on this to be the outside cover.

Inside the journals, I used all kinds of scrapbook paper, left over paper, lined notebook paper, graph paper and more. Many of the pages were sprayed with various colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

What has really been the most fun was using the scraps and leftover pieces from other projects as elements in these Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals. Sometimes when I stamp something to test the image or just thought I was going to make a card or something, but there was something not right. So I put it into a file folder to deal with later. These have been perfect for journal cards inside the junk journals.

The journals have one signature of 10 sheets of paper for a total of 40 pages.

What may have been considered trash is now a treasure for junk journals. I’ve had some papers for almost 20 years that finally got used in a junk journal.

These papers are fun to die cut into various shapes. I’m getting my monies worth out of my Tim Holtz Vagabond and the dies I’ve picked up lately.

Now I look at dies differently. Can this be used as a journal spot? Could this be used as a tuck spot? I’m also looking at the scraps of paper differently. Is it large enough to make a mini card inside the junk journal?

I even saved the strips of coloring book page to be tuck spots on another page in this junk journal session.

What I really love about junk journals there is no wrong way to make these. Whatever you like and enjoy can be put into a junk journal.

Here is a video talking about the Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals I made.

These Two Sweet Elegance Junk Journals were a lot of fun to make, and I’ll be making more of these.

How to make a Ten Minute Pairs Card

Today I’m sharing How to make a Ten Minute Pairs Card. Do you find that you need to have a quick card that you can make? A beautiful card can be made in ten minutes or less.

How to make a Ten Minute Pairs Card

Using the From Pairs with Love and Terry’s Trains, Detail ink – Raven, some distress inks, and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, I’ll show you How to make a Ten Minute Pairs Card.

It can be a challenge to create beautiful cards in a pinch. What I have found to help is having a few supplies on hand. Some people like to pre-cut papers and have these stored in special containers. I found that I have a large enough stash of paper to choose from that it is just as easy to cut as I need. In the case of this card, I was lucky that the paper was already cut to fit a standard A2 card.

There is no need to stress over making a card for someone. Sure you can hurry and take only ten minutes or you can take days. The process is all about enjoying what you are doing. The person getting the card may never know how long it took to create the card unless you tell them.

My hope is that you were inspired by the project today to play. Maybe even challenge yourself to create a card in ten minutes.  Especially a ten minute Paris card.

The way this card was made is super easy, as it involves stamping and coloring the images. There is no wrong way to color these images. What every looks good to you is perfect.

Since I used the Chameleon Pens I was able to get a pretty blended effect. Watercolor pencils could also be used just add a small amount and move with water to get the blended effect.

A great stamping tool is the MISTI as it can have several stamps loaded and then inked at one time. This is perfect if you want to create several of the same cards as you load the stamps once. Ink and then stamp for each card until you are done.

Today I used a die that I picked up from eBay. I love the design and I think it adds a bit of elegance to this whimsical birthday card.

Flat back pearls are perfect to add a nice touch of bling to the card. Then a small bow made from purple hemp finishes this card.

Head over to the Brutus Monroe Shop and pick up the Birthday Bears stamp set soon. You will love having this set to make art. You too can use the Birthday Bears on a Greeting Card.

Making the pinwheels is really easier than it looks. Once I figured out how many pieces to cut and how to put these together.

For the two pinwheels, I made there are five cuts of each of the two dies. The pinwheel looks best when two sided paper is used. The Rinea Foil was perfect since there are several papers that have different colors on each side.

Be aware that this card will get smashed if you put it in an envelope and mail it to someone. I would suggest either hand delivering the card or putting it in a small box so that it arrives in its full beautiful glory.

Make sure you head over to the Rinea website and see all the beautiful colors of paper foils that they offer. This isn’t your typical foil paper, it is better.

I hope that today’s post inspires you to make a pinwheel with the Rinea foil. Feel like a kid again and make one for yourself.

You may have seen these dies and had no clue what to do. Today I’ll share How to Cut, Fold and Tuck with Spellbinders Whirl About die. These dies make beautiful projects. Paired with The Rinea Foil, Brutus Monroe stamp and inks today I’ll show you how to create this card.

How to Cut, Fold and Tuck with Spellbinders Whirl About die

When I saw this die at Tuesday Morning I just knew it would make a beautiful card using the Rinea Foil. I love that when using the two sided foil in two different colors how both colors can be seen.

How to Cut, Fold and Tuck with Spellbinders Whirl About die

Cut gold/purple Rinea Foil to just under 4.25 in. x 5.5 in. This will then leave a small white boarder when you place it on your card if you cut it just a little shy of the measurements. Die cut largest set of dies out of gold / purple Rinea Foil in the upper area of the paper with the Purple side up.

Fold over the the tabs and tuck under the points.

Take the negative left from the die cut and emboss with Flower Vine embossing folder with the gold side up. Adhere to white A2 greeting card with Thermoweb Memory Tape Runner XL.

Adhere Die cut in the center of negative with the Purple side up using Thermoweb Memory Tape Runner XL.

On a scrap of white cardstock stamp Happy Anniversary from Sharon’s Script set in Brutus Monroe Detail ink – Raven. Cut the ends into pennant shape. With an awl or small hole punch make two holes at each end. Place a round min gold brad in each hole. Add White Adhesive Foam Squares to the back and apply to the bottom of the card.

Finally, add a Gold Glitter Round Bling Gemstone Sticker to the center of the die cut shape. Enjoy your beautiful card.

How to Make a St Patrick’s Day Altered Paperclip

It is so much fun to alter paperclips. Here is another tutorial: How to Make a St Patrick’s Day Altered Paperclip. Using Rinea Foil and a Shamrock cut on my Cricut.

How to make a St Patrick's Day Altered Paperclip

Wanting to make some fun St Patrick’s altered paper clips I turned to my Cricut first. There wasn’t a Shamrock in my Cricut files so I decided to draw the image and then scanned it into my computer.

Using the Cricut Software I then turned the image into a cut file and cut the Shamrock out of green card stock. Of course, I had to cut at least 20 because these turned out so cute!

Rinea Foil – Gold
Brutus Monroe Jurassic Ink
Ribbon
Jumbo Paperclip
Green card Stock
Cricut
Paper Studios Star Embossing Folder
Tim Holtz Vagabond
Xyron Sticker Maker
Blending Tool
Punch Bunch Flower Punch
McGill Stylis
Fun Foam
Aleene’s Tacky White Glue

Cut a strip of Rinea Foil – Gold at 1.5 in. x 3 in. Emboss in Paper Studios Star Embossing folder with Tim Hotz Vagabond or other like machine. Fold in half and slide through the closed side of the paper clip. Glue with Aleene’s Tacky White Glue.

Place the shamrock in the Xyron Sticker maker then place on both sides of Rinea Foil.

Tie a bow with the Green ribbon and place on the corner of Shamrock.

Use the Punch Bunch flower punch on the Rinea Foil – Gold and punch two flowers. Place on fun foam and press with McGill Stylis to form into a flower. Adhere flower in the center of the shamrock. Repeat on the other side.
