This is a project that the Calico Collage Design team decided to create a Blog hop and make a Travelin Through Travelers Notebook Junk Journal to share on each YouTube channel.
Calico Collage Design Team Videos for the
Travelin Through Travelers Notebook Junk Journal
I created a playlist with all of the videos on my YouTube.
All six of us that participated use the same Calico Collage Digital Kit – Travelin Through in our journals. So when you visit each YouTube video you will get a different version of the same kit in a Travelers Notebook size.
The idea was that everyone could then see a big variety of how this kit could be made into a Junk Journal.
Here is the video for my Travelin Through Travelers Notebook Junk Journal
Some of the items I used for the Travelin Through Travelers Notebook Junk Journal
Various Rubber Stamps
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists
Premade note cards that I added stamped images
Brutus Monore Be Brave Stamp set
Brutus Monroe Detail Ink – Raven
Canvas Corp junk pack of papers and scraps
Journal Cards I made with stamps, and sewed fabric, and lace on as well.
Pages out of old books that were made into pockets
Die cut shapes – I used scraps of paper to cut into shapes. Great way to use up that stash!
This Journal Measures 8.25 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide. It has 12 sheets of paper for a total of 48 pages.
Making a Junk Journal can be as simple or as complicated as you decide. There isn’t a right or wrong way to make a junk journal. It is all about what you like and what you want to use. Just select some papers and fold in half, bind together and you have a journal. It can be very simple with out all the embellishments. Some people prefer a blank journal as they want to add the stamping and embellishments. Others want the journal full of all kinds of cool things.
The Tag on the right was a scrap of paper that I stamped then sewed scraps of lace and fabric on top. The scraps of fabric came from my sewing group and these scraps were going to be trash! I have given these a new life.
Love this tuck spot that PinkOddBird shares on her YouTube. I tend to use this one a lot in my journals.
Check out the Facebook Group – Fans of Calico Collage. It is a small group but there are some wonderful ideas posted and the creator Norella will post specials and the occasional give away.
I have tutorials that show how a Travelers Notebook is made, feel free to follow me on YouTube.
It’s been so much fun that I created a Facebook Group. You are also welcome to join the Friendly Junk Journal People. It is a small group at the moment, but it is growing and we would love to have you with us.
Interested in any of the journals I created? Please feel free to contact me through my Facebook Page.
Here is my shop, I have a lot of items uploaded and will be adding more weekly.
My hope is that I have inspired you to look at those papers in your stash and make your own kit to add to your journals. Or feel free to buy the ones I made up.
