So I folded a coffee dyed paper to create a faux envelope.<\/p>\n<p>Then I selected a few scraps of paper to create the band. This is a perfect way to use up those scraps. If you don&#8217;t have one long enough, then glue a few together to make the strip you want.<\/p>\n<p>Remember when I share an idea like this, think about how you can make this your own. What will you change, what supplies do you have that you could use?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a.jpg\" alt=\"Envelope Band Tutorial\" width=\"1000\" height=\"878\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-100825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a-300x263.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a-768x674.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1a-600x527.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you have the faux envelope, wrap a strip of paper around it, make sure it over laps and cut any excess off that you don&#8217;t need.<\/p>\n<p>Use the first strip to make a wider strip for a layered look.<\/p>\n<p>Before you glue anything down, fold the strip so that you know where the top and bottom are gong to be.<\/p>\n<p>Then on the bottom half about half an inch from the edge place a dot of glue on the bottom paper to hold a magnet. Lay the top part of the paper over the magnet and glue down the bottom and middle section, creating a sandwich of paper, magnet, paper. Leave the top section unglued.<\/p>\n<p>Fold the strip around the envelope with the bottom portion down first. Then separate the layers for the top half. Position over the bottom and place a magnet over the bottom magnet, with the bottom paper between. Apply a drop of glue on the magnet and then fold down the top layer to create a sandwich to hold the magnet in place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1.jpg\" alt=\"Envelope Band Tutorial\" width=\"1000\" height=\"636\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-100824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1-768x488.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Envelope-Band-Tutorial-Image-1-600x382.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now that the magnets are in place you can continue on and decorate the band. In my example I used some old thread, a couple of paper flowers and a stamped word &#8211; Thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many ways that you can create these bands and add embellishments.
