In this tutorial I&#8217;ll show how to create a Midori Style Journal Cover using fabric, chipboard and cardstock. You don&#8217;t want too much of a gap, just enough for the cover to fold without bending. Make sure to leave enough fabric to fold over.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/2021\/04\/25\/dancing-dragonflies-midori-style-journal-cover-tutorial\/dancing-dragonflies-midori-style-journal-cover-tutorial-page-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-91577\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Dancing-Dragonflies-Midori-Style-Journal-Cover-Tutorial-Page-2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Dancing Dragonflies Midori Style Journal Cover Tutorial\" width=\"1979\" height=\"2560\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-91577\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Love Ya Like A Sister';\">Choosing to sew, Linda sews the center spine top then flips it around to sew the bottom. Next she stitches the pocket piece top and then attaches the pocket to the base and then stitches around the whole piece.\u00a0 Make sure your glue is completely dry before sewing. The cover is then stitched all the way around the outside area.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"font-family: 'Love Ya Like A Sister';\">Adhere your cardstock, make sure your cover is the right way up. Using a generous amount of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2V8rPLR\">Aleene&#8217;s tacky glue<\/a> to the spine center piece. Score the spine lightly to get a crease before applying the inside cover cardstock pieces. You can now adhere the cover pieces, remember to use generous amounts of glue.<\/span><\/h6>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/2021\/04\/25\/dancing-dragonflies-midori-style-journal-cover-tutorial\/dancing-dragonflies-midori-style-journal-cover-tutorial-page-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-91578\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lindaisrael.com\/art\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Dancing-Dragonflies-Midori-Style-Journal-Cover-Tutorial-Page-3-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Dancing Dragonflies Midori Style Journal Cover Tutorial\" width=\"1979\" height=\"2560\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-91578\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Love Ya Like A Sister';\">Using a template, Linda shows how to mark the holes where the <a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/y7v5sgr9\">2 mm round elastic cord<\/a> will go through. Using the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2VC5t50\">crop a dile hole punch <\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Love Ya Like A Sister';\">on the 1\/18th setting. Make sure to secure tight enough but not to where your cover will bough.
