How To make an Easter ATC Card using Stamps etc. A group of people at my office have created an Artist Trading Card group. We create ATC’s based on a theme and then we swap them. The theme for this one is Easter.

To make an ATC (artist trading card) you need to have a base that measures 2.5 x 3.5. Some people have even used standard playing cards for the base. Use whatever you like.

I stamped the bunny on a piece of white cardstock and then colored with watercolor pencils. Adding fun flock to the image made the bunny have a fuzzy texture. The bunny was then fussy cut out and set aside.

Using different stamps I created a back ground on a piece of white cardstock. I love building scenes like these.

Layer the card, purple base, white stamped background and then the bunny and punched flowers.

Today I’ll share how to Gel Print Into 10 Junk Journal Elements. Using a Gel Press and stencils I’ll create unique one of a kind papers. Then I’ll take one of those papers and use it to create 10 different journal elements or embellishments.

Gel Print Into 10 Junk Journal Elements

The first gel print features the January 2021 Artistic Stencil Club. Although this print wasn’t perfect I still like how it turned out. This will be a great background for a journal page or elements. Used Pink and Island Blue Acrylic Craft paint.

 

Leave those crusty bits on the gel plate. Whenever you leave those bits you get cool texture like this print. This one I used the Boston Traffic Alphabet Stencil in black and pink and blue acrylic paints

The half sheet from the January 2021 Artistic Stencil Club has a fun pattern. However you choose to use it in your projects I know you will enjoy this one.

Another stencil from the January 2021 Artistic Stencil club. I love all these little dots. My hope is that this one will be a lot of fun to add texture to many projects.

Creating the Diamond with Flair stencil was a great choice. This one has become one of my favorite designs.

By using the December 2020 Artistic Stencil club with teal and gold paint I have a beautiful gel print for projects. If you didn’t get the December 2020 Artistic Stencil Club you still can. When you check out in the comment field you can mention that you want to start with the December Club or any of the past months.

Another one of my favorite stencils, the Quilted Star Bursts. I’ve used this stencil in many different color combos and every time I use it I fall in love with it again.

 

 

Use those gel prints to create elements. By cutting up one sheet I was able to create ten different elements. Get creative!

I love paring the gel print with the lace for the belly band. However, adding the Textured Edges and the Sunflower from Calico Collage is also beautiful.

 

 

Lots of layers can be used or only a few for these journal card and tuck spot elements.

Don’t have a piece of paper the color you need? Create your own by painting the paper like I did for the ATC on the left with the bird trio faux postage from Calico Collage.

Even a little scrap can make a journal card pop. This one was paired with the Leafy Branch Stamp and printable words by Calico Collage.

Create your own mini envelopes without a template. Add stamping to the inside before you glue the envelope for a whimsical touch.

 

However you use your gel prints, have fun! Get creative and try new things with them. There are so many projects that can be created!

Boo to You Halloween Altered Envelope Tutorial

Love making these altered envelopes. Today I’m sharing Boo to You Halloween Altered Envelope Tutorial using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Calico Collage digital images, stamps and more. Bonus journal card tutorial too!

This is a super easy Boo to You Halloween Altered Envelope Tutorial. Bonus journal card tutorial too. Spray a 2.5 x 3.5-inch ivory card with Safety Orange Tattered Angels. Splatter with Almost Black. Allow the spray to dry. Stamp houses along the bottom, don’t make them straight, have fun. Select a sentiment stamp, ink and stamp in the upper left corner of the card. On a gold sheet of cardstock, stamp a witch that looks like she is flying over the moon. Fussy cut and mat with a black circle.

Apply Distress ink around the edges of the journal card. Black Soot and Walnut Stain help make the card look grungy.

On the back side of the witch image, adhere a small tuft of tulle and then adhere this element on the right side of the journal card.

Grab an envelope, think a return envelope from your junk mail. That hasn’t been used, that still has the closure flap. Trim down the envelope by cutting off each end. I this case I cut off 2 inches from each side to mak5-inch wide envelope.

Select one of the end pieces and open up the envelope, next spray with Almost Black Tattered Angels. Flip the envelope over and spray the inside with Safety Orange Tattered Angels. Apply Distress ink, Black Soot on all the edges.

Adhere the cut piece of the envelope over the return address. With the open side up to create a pocket.

Create Domino Sized witch element by layering the witch image over purple and black cardstock, create two of these. Adhere green trim behind witch on the left side of the pocket. Save the other image.

Stamp Boo to You or another sentiment on Ivory cardstock, splatter with Safety Orange and Almost Black Tattered Angels. Use a ruler and a black marker to give a border to the sentiment.  Apply distress ink around the edges. Adhere the sentiment on the pocket.

Fold envelope shut. Use the remaining image to create a closure for the envelope. Apply glue on the bottom half and position the top half over the flap, making sure not to glue the envelope shut.

Add journal card to the pocket once the glue has dried. Enjoy your work!

Lace Artist Trading Coin Tutorial

Hello friends, today I’m sharing a Lace Artist Trading Coin Tutorial. If you love Artist Trading Cards then you will also love artist trading coins. These coins measure 2.50 inch in size and are circles. These coins make great embellishments, trade items, and gifts. Could also make these into magnets. There really isn’t a limit.

Process for the Lace Artist Trading Coin Tutorial. Begin by adding ink to the edges of the 2.5 inch round cardstock pieces. Then flip over one and apply a bead of the Best Glue Ever around the edge. Set aside to dry for about 15 to 20 minutes until the glue is clear.

Apply ink to the edges of the digital image that was cut at 2.25 inches. Then apply the Best Glue Ever to the back of the image and attach to the second of the two and a half inch circle. Tip: Apply a small drop of the Best Cleaner ever to the pin for the lid of the No Clog Writing Cap, this will give added protection against the tip clogging.

Put a few drops of glitter paint over the flower images and spread with a paint brush. This gives a pretty touch of glitter that isn’t overpowering. Clean the brush with the Best Cleaner Ever and rinse with water.

Once the Best Glue Ever has become clear on the 2.50 inch circle apply lace. Make sure to pleat the lace, even if it is gathered. This will help the lace curve around the circle and give it a full look.

Spray the lace disk with Glimmer Mist of choice and allow to dry. Can use a heat tool to dry, but make sure not to get the tool to close to the lace.

Apply the Best Glue ever to the back of the digital image disk and sandwich the lace between the two disks. Add zig-zag stitches to hold all the layers and to add more interest.

Use a paper punched bird as embellishment and attach with the Best Glue Ever.

Add a drop of the Best Glue Ever using the No Clog Writing Cap to the eye area of the punched shape.
