The outer midori style cover was made using fabric covered chipboard and features a pocket on the inside front and back. Inside this is a journal insert with a cardstock cover featuring a fabric ruffle behind a beautiful bird image and the word winter in the lower right corner.
Tulip Dimensional Glitter paint was applied to the images to give a beautiful sparkle. I love this look as it makes me think of old fashioned greeting cards that had glitter.
Three different fabrics were used, all of which were from scraps. On the left a pocket was made using left over bits of a paper sack and fabric. The two journal cards were made using the snowflake stencil from the November 2020 Artistic Stencil Club and Toy Solider Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists from the A Christmas Dream kit.
The page on the right is red text weight paper that was sprayed with Kraft TAGM through the Dec 2019 Large Snowflake Stencil. Then fabric was glued down the side then one of the fussy cut elements was glued on top.
There are 16 charms in and on this journal. Using bulb pins and beads I hooked these charms on the edges of the pages and on the spine of the outer journal cover.
Coffee dyed paper was used for the page on the right along with the snowflake boarder stamp. I love coffee dyed papers, however I don’t like creating them. I’m blessed that my friend Beverly gave me a stack so I can include these pages in the journals I create.
I like how the coffee dyed paper looked with the Frosty stamp. This journal features more of a vintage look with the variety of papers and elements used.
Red TAGM with the Quilted Star Bursts stencil adds a beautiful pop to the page on the right.
A tiny journal was made using the Winter Text pages and a page from Winter Woodland kit by Calico Collage.
Book pages torn to fit some of the fussy cut elements adds additional pockets to hold journal cards.
Remember that two pieces of paper can be attached together to create a journal page like the one on the right that features the red cardinal stamp. Distress ink used with the Snowflake stencil from the November 2020 Artistic Stencil Club adds a touch of blue.
This journal has so many wonderful features. I love seeing the edges with the fabric and charms.
The outside cover features a beautiful image and ruffled fabric along with a couple of charms on the spine. There is room to add two additional inserts to this journal.
