It’s a Sweetheart Valentine Card project on the blog today. The Fatabulous Circut Challenge Blog (aka FCCB) has a bi weekly challenge. This weeks challenge theme is #294 Valentines Day.

DL.Art is the sponsor for this weeks challenge. To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it’s not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn’t a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For this project I decided to use the Sweetheart cut file from the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge file M46C0D. This was cut on red card stock to fit on a standard A2 card. This was perfect for my Sweetheart Valentine Card project.

The couple featured on the card is from Calico Collage. Romantic Lovers is a digital download found on Calico Collage’s Etsy site. I’m a new member of her Design Team and loving the ability to work with her designs.

Also used in this card: Canvas Corp Red & White Diamond card stock. This paper is so yummy. I thought it was perfect as the background for this card, don’t you just love it too?

Of course I have to use inks on cards some where, and this card is no different. Brutus Monroe’s Detail Ink – Raven was used to give more definition to the edges of the layers. Used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distressed ink to add a little more distressed look to the photo as well.

The corrugated paper under the Sweethearts word was something in my stash. Not sure where it came from, but it has great texture. Reminds me of the days when Oreos had that great black texture in the bottom of the package. Oreos, yum..

Recently I went on an Ebay shopping spree and purchased a few dies from China. These little dies were very inexpensive and I think I’m addicted to them now.

The little self adhesive pearls are from Paper Studios. What I like to do is pick these up when there is a sale at Hobby Lobby, then I know I’ll have a supply of these on hand.

A process video was made, have a look.

I’m enjoying being on the FCCB Design Team. Being on the team is helping me to use my Cricut more often and learn more. Check out the FCCB site and join in the challenge.
