It was requested by one of my followers to show How to make a Simple Blue Travelers Notebook Junk Journal. This is a simple journal using items I had on stash and without embellishment.
The idea of a junk journal is to use items that may be considered junk to others and even trash. Some like to say, I just picked up a bunch of junk and put it together. There is no wrong way to make a junk journal. The key is to have fun. No stress here.
This Travelers Notebook insert measures 8.25 tall by 4.25 wide. Fits standard Travelers Notebook covers. It has 12 pages for a total of 48 pages.

Here is a video of How to make a Simple Blue Travelers Notebook Junk Journal. It took about 20 minutes for me to make the journal, that is after I cut the papers.
A junk journal is a great way to use up those papers in your stash that may not be ideal for other projects. I’ll pick scrapbook paper that I may not be totally in love with the design and use that as a page. When it has writing, photos or ephemera on top it fades into the background and then I fall in love with how it turns out.
Tell your friends to save those calendars, old magazines and junk mail for you. You will be amazed at what they will save and you can use in junk journals. I’ve been collecting items for well over 25 years so I have a nice stash. It’s still fun to get a package from someone with goodies. 😉
