This project has a lot in it today. A Stamping, Digital Ephemera and Cricut Greeting Card.

In the past week I have become a member of two design teams. With this project I’m showing how to use items that meet both of the design team requirements.

The first design team I want to tell you about is the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (aka FCCB).

Being a part of this blog will challenge me to use my Cricut more often in projects. My biggest hope is that I’ll learn more techniques on how to use my Cricut and become a better user of this device. Hopefully this will benefit you as my audience as well.

The second team I want to tell you about is Calico Collage.

The designer Norella puts together beautiful collage sheets for the public to purchase and use. Looking through her designs I knew that these were a perfect fit for me to use in my art creations. My hope is that you will enjoy seeing these images and will be inspired by what you see.

For today’s project for the FCCB the challenge was to use something new. Since I’m new to the Calico Collage team I chose one of her Dashing Men images for this project paired with the Circut cut file: Home Decor Frame M3C018.

Other products used, scraps of Canvas Corps Brands paper – Damask, scrap of 7 Gypsies American Vintage State Plates Paper, scraps of black and kraft from my stash. Brutus Monroe Detailed Ink – Raven, Sharon’s Script – Thinking of you. Tim Holtz Distressed Ink – Brushed Corduroy. A Stamp in the Hand Script stamp. Lastly Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – It’s Black.

This was a fun card to make, that helped me use things I had on hand. Making this card also made me think about my Cricut Cut files a little differently. I’m looking at the files in new ways to figure out how I can use these in more of my projects instead of every once and a while.

Bugaboo Unicorn Junk Journal

Today I’m sharing the Bugaboo Unicorn Junk Journal I made for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The Unicorn image is a Digi Stamp from Bugaboo. The challenge this time on the Fantabulous Circut Challenge Blog is any thing goes.

This journal measures 4.5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. The inside pages are 4.25 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall. There are 10 sheets of paper for a total of 40 pages in this Bugaboo Unicorn Junk Journal.

There is no wrong or right way to make a junk journal. Some people think the whole journal needs to be made out of things that would be trash. Others think if any part of the journal is something other than standard paper then that is considered a junk journal. I think that anything you want to put into a journal is perfectly good!

Using the Bugaboo Unicorn Digi Stamp set gave me an opportunity to learn how to print and cut on my Cricut. I like that I was able to pull in all the images and decide on the size before I printed and cut the components.

Having this features sure saves the time of me having to hand cut the images. Makes life so easy.

I used Chameleon Pens to color the Unicorn. I love the rainbow colors in the mane. Love these pens!

This will be my last Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog project as it was a six-month term. I’ve learned a lot in the past six months and I’m so glad that I was a part of the FCCB. Thank you FCCB design team for being wonderful on the team.

How to make a Patriotic greeting card

I’m sharing a project made for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog; How to make a Patriotic greeting card. Using Stand and Salute Cricut Cut files, Scrapbook paper Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Glitter Washi Tape and a Flag stamp I show how to make a Patriotic greeting card.

Having a ton of Cricut Cut files makes it very easy for me to find an image to use on a project. I’ve been collecting the images for a long time and haven’t needed to purchase any new images in a while now. lol So I’m glad that I had the Stand and Salute

Scrolling through the images I knew I found the perfect images for this Patriotic greeting card. The eagle was the first image I found. Then I found the Support our Troops and knew this was all I needed from Cricut today.

Once the images were cut I set to creating the card with my supplies. In this video, I show How to make a Patriotic greeting card.

How to make a Bi Fold Mother’s Day Card with Pockets.

Supplies used for the Bi Fold Mother’s Day Card with Pockets
2 sheets of two sided cardstock – Cut one sheet to 8.5 in. x 8.5 in. Cut second sheet 8.5 in x 5.75 in.
Pink cardstock Cut three Recipe Card Dividers to fit pockets

To begin cut the two-sided cardstock, Cut one sheet to 8.5 in. x 8.5 in. Then score at 1/2 inch and 4 1/2 inch on the 8.5 in. x 8.5 in. sheet. Punch half circles on the left center top and the bottom lower right. Cut second sheet 8.5 in x 5.75 in., on the second sheet of 8.5 in x 5.75 in. score at 1/2 and 4.5 in.

Use the Brutus Monroe Botanical Banners Rose in the MISTI, ink with Brutus Monroe Rouge surface ink then stamp on the three Recipe Card Dividers. Add color to the edges with the Ranger Blending tool using the Rouge ink. Select three images from the Calico Collage images, blend the edges. Fold a white paper doily in half and plete so that it will fit on the larger recipe card divider. Adhere with Aleene’s Tacky glue. Then adhere the digital images one on each divider. Spray each tag with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Vintage Pink

Select one large image for the center of the back, use the Ranger Blending Tool and Tim Holtz Distressed Ink – Vintage Photo to add color around the edges. Adhere this image to the center of the bi fold.

Add color to the edges of the paper doilies and place one on either side of the large photo. Blend the edges of two more images then place on top of the lace doilies.

Blend the long strip around the edges and adhere with Aleene’s Tacky Glue in the center.

Flip the card over. One this side select the large image and blend the edges, adhere in the center panel. On the left panel adhere a white paper doily after adding pink to the edges. Add two photos layered on each other over the doily.

Spray both sides of the card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Vintage Pink.

Stamp Happy Mother’s Day with Brutus Monroe Detail Ink – Raven on a scrap of white paper. Trim the ends into a pennate.

Blend the edges of another doily just on half. Glue the half onto the bottom of the pocket portion of the card. Trim off the excess. Select several Prima Flowers and adhere on top of the doily leave a space for the Happy Mother’s Day banner.

Place pop dots on the back of the Happy Mother’s Day banner and adhere in the center of the flowers. Add a pink bow to the left side.

Put the tags (recipe card dividers) inside the pockets and you are done.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this project today. It’s a great way to share photos inside a card. Modify the measurements to fit your needs, and have fun.
