Continuing with my #junkjournaljuly I’ve created a Nautical Travelers Notebook Junk Journal for July 6th. My idea was to share how I decorate a Travelers Notebook. Adding the ephemera and tuck spots as well as stamping.

Here is a video showing How to make the Nautical Travelers Notebook Junk Journal.

Isn’t the 7Gypsies Architextures – Trinkets – Seashore Decor a perfect touch for the cover? I added a some Brutus Monroe Surface ink – Cornflower on top of the Welcome Mermaid. It deepened the color. I just love the texture.

For this Nautical Travelers Notebook Junk Journal, I decided to pull some blue scrapbook papers from my stash. These pages reminded me of the water and I knew that the print was light enough of several of the pages to be written upon.

As always I like using up scraps that I have on hand. I made tags out of Navy & Ivory Chevron is from Canvas Corp Brands paper. I sewed a scrap of dictionary paper on top that had been sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and stamped with Let your dreams set sail. After punching a hole in the top of the tag I added Waxed Cotton Cord from Canvas Corp Home Basics. Doesn’t it feel like something Nautical?

My friends are such a big blessing to me. One year a friend got a beautiful daily travel calendar. There are so many beautiful images in this calendar and he was throwing away the pages when the days were done. I asked if I could have those and I’m so glad I saved these from 2006! Tell your friends to save these items for you to use.

I’m so glad that I purchased the Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 43 Stamp set
from Barns and Noble. I’m loving the nautical themed stamps that came with the magazine. I used the heart knot rope on the tops of several pages. My MISTI sure comes in handy to get precise stamping every time.
