Hello everyone. Today I’m sharing the following Aspire Dream Custom Junk Journal. One of my followers requested that I make a custom junk journal for her. The requirements she had were, dragonflies, hedgehogs, nature, eagles, earth tones – brick and burgundy reds, olive and moss green, and golden yellows.

So using the list of things she liked and knowing the list of things she didn’t want I proceeded to pull items and share with her what I was thinking. She came back with feedback on the items she loved and wanted more of and we changed directions once. Once I had all the elements I set to work on the journal.

Loir Louise is her name and she said she loved to color. That gave me the idea to make a lot of little journal cards that she could color and then write on the backside.

I used the Dragonfly Delight journal kit from Calico Collage. This kit has a lot of teal and pink. Using distress inks and a blending tool I was able to alter the colors and add more golds, reds and darker greens. It really changed the look of the pages.

Also used a few pages from the Gypsy Love journal kit from Calico Collage. The deeper greens and reds and gold I thought went perfectly with the other pages. I also liked that these pages were a different size so it gave some added interest to the journal.

Since she liked autumn colors and dragonflies I used two of my custom stencils. Wanting to have stencils that fit my pages and had themes I liked I used my Cricut. Cutting each page to be the correct size and have images I liked. No one else will have these stencils thus making my junk journals unique. Lots of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists were used on the pages.

Other elements used in the Aspire Dream Custom Junk Journal was the floral fabric. To add interest here and there I cut one-inch strips of the fabric and then sewed on the pages, journal cards, and other elements.

Making this Aspire Dream Custom Junk Journal was a lot of fun for me. Being able to pull my stamps down and give them a good workout made me smile.
