While at #Creativation2018 and in my hotel room I made the following Compose Your Life Junk Journal using new designs by Aga Baraniak. These beautiful designs are on wonderful heavy watercolor paper. Which are perfect for you to add your own artwork. This beautiful paper will hold up to water coloring, acrylic paint and more.

What I love about these papers is how I can color in the images or leave them as they are printed. The paper feels wonderful in my hands with that wonderful watercolor bumpy feeling.

Another installment of the Monochrome Junk Journal Pages Part 4. In this tutorial I’ll show a trick on adding a sewn fabric ruffle to a page. I’ll also show a very layered pocket with lots of goodies inside.

Today Linda shows how she creates a layered side pocket and journal cards using scraps, rubber stamps, fabric pieces and digital images.

Using bit of fabric, lace and paper flowers to create side pockets and journal card. The digital image is from the All About Robin’s digital. Sewing around the pieces adds an extra touch of texture.

Using kraft card stock, stamping with the Bella Rose Medium rubber stamp, and fabric that Linda created a ruffled edge. 

The Roses Faux Digital postage stamps by Calico Collage was sewn onto black cardstock as another element for the journal page.

When you want to add fabric and lace to a page, but don’t want stitches to show on the other side, or if you can’t get the page in the sewing machine try this technique. Attach the fabric and lace to a strip of paper, sew and then glue the strip on the journal page.

During the YouTube Live event, the Winter Bliss Journal was deconstructed and then made into a new journal. The goal was to show that even though the journal comes bound, it can be taken apart and have more pages added to suit your needs.

Because you can add more pages, you can customize the journal to fit you. Use those old Christmas cards, specialty papers and more.

The live tutorial was made because I wanted to show you how easy it is to build a fun journal using the items in the box and maybe a few supplies you have on hand.
