Supplies used to create the Sari Silk Pocket Journal Page Tutorial
Select a piece of Sari Silk that is about 8.5 inches by 8.5 inches. The idea is when the piece is folded in half it will make a pocket on the edge of a journal page. If you have a small piece consider sewing several together to get the size needed for a pocket. Don’t have a sewing machine? Use tape or glue to adhere the fabric to a piece of paper, you can also use HeatnBond and iron the fabric to paper.

Fold the edge of a piece of copy paper or other paper to adhere the fabric. Glue the folded edge, lay the fabric on the paper and mark where the fabric ends and fold the other side of the paper and adhere in place.

Apply Tape, I used an ATG Gun around the edges of the paper, but not flush to the edge about a half inch inside. Unless you don’t plan to sew on the page then go all the way to the edge.

Select a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper, in my project I had a piece of light blue text weight paper. Lay a stencil from the April Stencil Club on the blue page and spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to add a pattern to the plain paper. Dry completely either with a heat tool or by letting it air dry.

Sew the fabric to the paper. Fold the new fabric paper in half. Slip the fabric paper over the edge of the blue paper. Sew the fabric paper at the top and bottom attaching to the blue page.
