This One Sheet Folio Tutorial is a great way to use up scrapbook paper. In this tutorial I’ll show how to use one sheet of scrapbook paper to create a unique folio that can be added to a junk journal.
One Sheet Folio Tutorial video
Supplies used.
- 1 sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper
- Paper cutter
- Book Pages
- Scoring Tool
- Aleene’s Tacky Glue
- Distress Ink Walnut Stain
- Blending Tool
- French Words from Calico Collage
- Scrap of Fabric
- Sewing Machine
- Bird Nest and Egg Cube
- Warbler Stamp
- Archival Ink
- Bird Silhouette Cube
- Amarillo Rose Digital Journal Kits
- Cut and Create Amarillo Rose Ephemera Book
To begin, select a full sheet of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper. From the top score at 7.5 inches. Then rotate the page and cut two inches from the bottom. Score half an inch from the bottom after making the cut.
Fold up the bottom which becomes a pocket for the inside of the folio.
Turn the page right side up (pocket will be face down on your surface) Score from the right edge at 5 inches and again at 10 inches.
Here is a template to help with where to cut and score the page.
Cut the 2 x 12 inch strip down to be 7.25 inches. This will become a pocket.
Decorate the folio with sewing and stamping. It is fun to add some stamping to the inside of the folio. Another option is to decorate the inside with scrapbook paper, or leave plain for additional writing space.
Add journal cards and tags to the pockets. I used some of the Amarillo Rose Digital kit from Calico Collage. There is also a Cut and Create Ephemera book from Calico Collage that can be used, especially for those who don’t have a printer.
Adhere the pocket to the front. Use a mason jar journal tag in the front pocket to keep the folio closed.
So many goodies can be added to this folio. Since I created this to fit inside a pocket of my journal I kept it somewhat simple so that it wasn’t too thick.
This One Sheet Folio would make a great gift to send to a friend.
