Having joined a pocket letter group I have the opportunity to swap. So I thought I would share How to make a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter. Using Calico Collage Summer Paradise digital journal kit.

Summer Paradise Pocket Letter

Since the journal kit is designed to print as two pages for a 5 x 7 journal I decided to try and print the images as four 3.5 in. x 5 in. prints on a page. When I did this the individual pages were now small enough to fit on the front of an ATC (Artist Trading Card). These are then the perfect size for a pocket letter.

For the actual cards that went into the pocket letter, I cut several at 3.5 in. x 5 in. These pages I then folded in half and these became small booklets or cards.

Each of the images was cut to fit the papers and then I went around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Inks, Picked Raspberry.

Although the papers are beautiful by themselves I decided to add a few embellishments. I stamped a few sayings using Brutus Monroe Detail Ink – Raven from the Stampendous Life Words Stamp Set. These were then punched with a circle punch and layered onto the cards.

Also added to the cards a few Prima Flowers in various colors. These were then topped with glitter glue so that they would sparkle.

Once I had the pages decorated I started adding goodies. I used charms from my stash to add a little goodie that could be removed. And if these are removed there is still a bow that can be left in its place or if it was completely removed the card still looked great.

Here is a video of making a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter.

It was fun digging through my stash of sequins and other goodies to add to the pockets. I didn’t realize how fun it would be to make a Summer Paradise Pocket Letter.

I’ve already selected images for other pocket letters I want to make as I found this to be super fun! And the Calico Collage Journal kits are perfect to have enough images to fill the 9 pockets with two images each.
