Here is a video showing how to make Mixed Media ATC’s Or Journal cards.

The method is very simple. Select a sheet of paper from your stash that you want to alter. Choose a few colors of paint and get your tools ready. It is a wise idea to protect your work surface, I use scrap paper, newspaper or even a Nonstick Craft Mat.

Squirt out a little of each color onto a pallet. Use the plastic card to spread the paint all over the sheet of paper. It is all random, don’t think about the placement of the paint, just cover the sheet of paper. For best results let the paper dry or use a heat embossing gun to dry the paint.

Select a stencil and lay over painted paper. Apply paint through the stencil with the same plastic card. Dry this layer before moving to the next step.

Stamp various images in Brutus Monore Detail ink – Raven on the painted paper. Stamp in all directions, again don’t think about placement, just fill some of the empty space.

Use the Versamark embossing pad with stamps on the paper. Apply the embossing powder, tap off the excess and heat emboss until all of the powder has turned shiny.

Once all the stamping has been completed trim the paper down to small cards that are 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches in size.

Select scraps of paper and use the EK Sucess label punch or dies to cut shapes. Place these shapes in the MISTI and stamp with the chosen saying or quote with Brutus Monroe Detail ink – Raven.

Apply Black Soot Distress ink around the edges of the cards and the labels with a distressing tool.

Adhere the sayings with ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever.

Enjoy the cards you made! If the back side of the papers is not clean enough for writing then I like to attach a blank piece of paper cut to the same size as the card.
