Begin the Moth Altered Paperclip Tutorial by selecting some scraps of paper. Use the EK success punch to create the square shape that will be the base for the paperclip. Also punch a second shape using an oversized junk mail postcard. Apply distress ink around the edges of both pieces.
Glue a piece of sheet music or hymal to a scrap of paper to make it stronger. Trim to fit inside the square shape. Apply Distress Ink to the edges with a blending tool. Stamp with Shabby Stitches around the edges of the square.
Adhere the music as a pocket to the Red Base using the No Clog Writing Cap and Best Glue Ever by Scraperfect. Essentially add glue to three sides and leave an opening at the top.
Place a paperclip in the center of the oversize postcard punched shape (can also use cardstock). Apply Aleene’s Tacky Glue down the center of the paperclip and around the perimeter of the piece. Layer the red square base on top. Flip over to the back and press in the paperclip area and around the edges, you can also place something heavy on top to ensure the pieces are adhered.
Snip a piece of the eyelash yarn and lay it across the bottom corner and then select a moth from the Radiant Red Digital Download (fussy cut), adhere the moth on top of the yarn.
Select a word and apply Black Soot Distress inks to the edges to cover the white paper. Adhere on top of the music. Add a three drops of glue in a pleasing pattern that will have sequins placed on top. The Best Glue Ever is best used for sequins when the glue can dry a little and become clear, Then you won’t have glue seep through the sequin.
Add little bits to the pocket, items from the Digital Download or scraps to give the appearance of tiny ephemera.
