Creating a Monochrome Junk Journal Page. But first, I’ll share some of the items I plan on using to create a Monochrome junk journal. Hopefully, this tutorial will give you ideas to use for creating your own.

Taking the items that you have around you, you can create a junk journal page that is unique to you. Take scraps of cardstock and use your stamps to create journal cards.

Below Linda created a simple journal card by taking a scrap of cardstock and used a birds life stamp then distressed the edges with black soot ink.

Create layers by using fabric scraps, bits of lace and cardstock and give a sentiment to make a statement on your page. Linda uses her Ellis Stamp and created a layered look.

Use different textures to blank writing spaces. Linda added the textured edges stamp to help break up the white space on the page.

Creating  pockets will give you space for journal cards or tags. Below Linda took black cardstock, a book page that she ripped. She added the stitches and the banner stamps for texture. Use words whether digital printable or from a book, Here Linda chose to use a digital collage word created by Calico Collage.

Using lined paper, you can create writing space and collage around the areas.

Here you can see the diamond with flare stenciled page using It’s Black Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist that was ripped to form a tuck spot for a journal card.  Linda added tickets and faux stamp digitals by Calico Collage.

Journal cards don’t have to be elaborate, keep them simple by adding stamping to them. Here Linda used the Bella Rose stamp to the edges of the journal card and then distressed the edges with Black Soot distress ink.

Think about using up the scraps of fabric by added them to the journal cards with elements like a paper flower. If you don’t have a rubber stamp you can also print out images from digital kits, this journal card has an image from the All about Robins digital.
