Sharing How to make a Spring Paper Bag Junk Journal using the Calico Collage Simply Spring digital papers and of course some paper bags. When I got this digital sheet set it made me long for spring. So I thought it only fitting to make a journal with the set.

Here is a list of some of the supplies used in the Spring Paper Bag Junk Journal:
  • Calico Collage Simply Spring Digital Papers and Fairy Forest Digital Images

  • Hole Punch
  • Ribbon and Canvas Corp Brands Waxed Cotton Cord to tie pages together
  • My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus papers, use all of the scraps.
  • Four sheets of 12 in. x 12 in. Card stock for mini journal books
  • Scraps of coordinating cardstock
  • Stapler
  • Brutus Monroe: Detail ink – Raven and Sea
  • Tim Holtz Distressed Ink – Tumbled Glass
  • Silhouette cuts: Words welded using the Samantha Font.

  • Stampin Up Top Note Die
  • Acrylic Paint: Teal and White
  • Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Once the paper bags were selected and folded these were bound with ribbon and CCB cord. Measured to make sure of cuts of scrapbook papers.

Cut up the Calico Collage Simply Spring digital papers then select images to use in journal.

Lay out all of the papers in the order you want them to appear in the book. It is much easier to do this up front so that you get the look you want.

Die cut the Stampin Up Top Note Die and paint with Teal and White Acrylic paint. Set aside to dry. Once dry Stamp with Notebook lines stamp.

Words were cut with Silhouette using the Samantha font. Make sure to weld the letters together so that you will have a whole word not individual letters. Welding the letters makes it so much easier to place, trust me I know from experience.

Use Brutus Monroe: Detail ink – Raven and Sea and Tim Holtz Distressed Ink – Tumbled Glass to finish the edges of papers and to stamp when needed.

Assemble book.

Here is a video of the whole process of making the Spring Paper Bag Junk Journal. I worked on this for about a day trying to decide how I wanted this book to look.
