Mother’s day is almost here, Sunday, May 14, 2017. On today’s blog, I’m sharing How to make a Shabby Chic Mother’s Day Greeting Card. Using the Mother’s Day images from Calico Collage, Brutus Monroe Stamps, ink and more.
The Calico Collage Mother’s Day Images are super sweet. I chose one of the images to be the focal point of a 5 in. x 7 in. greeting card. Pairing this with new stamps from Brutus Monroe just seemed to be the perfect fit.

Digging around in my paper stash I found a couple pieces of pink paper that I thought went well with the image.
Recently I purchased the Anna Griffin Flower Bramble Die and I just love how beautiful it looks. Die cutting it out of plain white paper makes a beautiful touch to this card.
Adding Distress Inks to the edges of papers just helps to finish the look. It may not be necessary on every project but for this project, I think it helps to bring each layer together.
If you like that vintage feel on photos try adding a touch of gold embossing around the edges. Think messy, not uniform when you apply the embossing powder. This look reminds me of an old mirror that has aged and part of the silver is faded.
Although the stamped roses are hard to see in the photo it does make a nice gold touch to the image. If I had left off the embellishments the card could have been finished with just the gold embossed roses.
Those paper doilies that you find in the cake decorating isle are perfect for card making. These don’t cost a whole lot of money but sure look elegant.
Using the Gold Glossy Rinea paper foil with the leaves die adds a touch of softness and elegance to this Shabby Chic Mother’s Day Greeting card. I love seeing the shimmer on the card.
On top of the paper lace doily, is a few loops of pearls to help with that shabby chic look and add a little bit of romance.
To top off the embellishments is a beautiful Prima French Riviera Flower.
Once all of the items were added to the card I then used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Vintage Pink to spray and add droplets to the card.
