Here is a video for How to make Napkin Embellishments.
The method I used was very simple. Use a glue stick to adhere music and map paper to the back side of the one ply of the napkin. Trim to size wanted. Sew zigzag stitch around edges. Apply distress inks to edges of each element.
Add cheesecloth and other embellishments to the pieces. Adhere to journal page using Aleene’s Tacky Glue.
Using napkins as an embellishment inside a junk journal is easy and beautiful. Each time a napkin is used you can get a different look, depending on the other elements you use.
What I like about using a napkin is I can create several elements to go into the junk journal and thus carry out the same theme. Or I can use only one of the napkin embellishments for a focal point.
There really isn’t any limit to what you can do with these new napkin embellishments in your junk journals.
Stay tuned for the tutorial on A Mermaid Tale Junk Journal where I used these elements.
