Another collaboration with other artists creating a Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration project. Four of us, Shel, Lena, Bea and myself are swapping postcards again with a summer theme.

Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration

The idea is that each of us would create a standard 4 x 6 postcard with a summer-themed background that the next artist could decorate as they wanted.

Here is a tutorial process video showing how I made my cards and then embellished all the cards. Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration Video.

Supplies Used for the Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration.

My postcards began with a 4 x 6 watercolor paper and a slew of Tattered Angels Products. I wanted to see if I could create a scene with the paints.

Using an old hotel key card I scraped paint onto the watercolor paper. Applied Glam with a paintbrush. Sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and used High Impact Paint as if it were rubber stamp ink.

Think outside the box when doing mixed media. That is the beauty of being able to do anything you want.

Once all the postcards arrived it was time to decorate. For this Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration, I wanted to use the same theme for each card if possible.

The idea was Pin Up Girls having fun in the sun. Using the digital images from Calico Collage was a great focal point for each postcard.

Doing this Summer Mixed Media Postcard Collaboration was so much fun. Even though we all did different backgrounds I feel that by using the same focal type of images made these a set.

Try your hand at making a few postcards and maybe even do a collaboration with a few art friends.

Make sure to check out the videos by the other artists.
