Sharing a Mixed Media Flip Tag Book Inspiration this is a prompt that was given to us by the Facebook Group Junk Journal Junkaholics. Paulie the owner of the group shares a prompt in the group for us to make a project and then on Sunday night of that week we are to post in the group with Tag You’re It. It’s a fun way to share projects and I decided to play along this week.

Supplies used and tutorial for Mixed Media Flip Tag Book Inspiration

Let me tell you about this Mixed Media Flip Tag Book Inspiration. Started with a 12 x 12 plain cardstock paper, collaged scraps of dictionary and bible pages adhered all over randomly.

Applied acrylic craft paint with an old gift card in random spots.

Used the Moroccan Stencil with Blarney Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

Stamped several BLine Design stamps using Brilliance Graphite Black Ink all over the page.

Cut into 2-inch strips. First cut a 4 x 12-inch strip from the top, sub cut into 8 x 4 inch, sub cut 2 x 8. With the remaining 12 x 8-inch piece, into 2-inch strips. Cutting the paper will then create eight 2 inch pieces.

Adhere two strips back to back, repeat. You will now have two 2 x 8 inch back to back units.

Create two pockets out of an old book page or scrap of paper 2 x 2.25 inches. Spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist using the same Moroccan Stencil. Adhere one pocket per a strip unit using the Best Glue Ever with the Large No-Clog Writing Cap by ScraPerfect. Basically, we are making two units that look alike.

Create a little booklet using strips of graph paper to find inside pocket 1.25 x 3.25 inches with a scrap of fabric sewn at the top. Could also use a stapler through the fabric or a scrap of paper.

Select Calico Collage images and create mats slightly larger. Paint the mats with matching colors, this is a great tip if you don’t have the same color of paper, just make your own. Adhere one image on the pocket over a scrap of lace and another higher up on the tag. Adhere a few words.

Cut a strip of graph paper 1.75 x 7.5 inches long. Lay stencil down and spray with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, then use the strips to mop up the mists. Adhere the strips to the back of the tag units.

Stamp a butterfly in the lower portion and apply words.

You should now have two units that look the same, maybe has different images but the same concept for each. Lay the strip with the pocket facing up on the left, then lay the strip with the graph paper on the right. Match the top (two-inch side) and butt up together leaving about a 1/8 gap. Adhere a strip of fabric to attach the two units together. Flip over and repeat.
