Yesterday I shared how to print and cut a few Calico Collage Simply Spring images. Today I’ll show you how to use these items to make Simply Spring Junk Journal Elements. These elements or embellishments can be used for other projects as well – make greeting cards with pockets for the journal cards. There are lots of ways to use these elements.

Having all the images cut and ready to use helps to make this project go faster. Once all the images had Vintage Photo Distress Ink added to the edges. Then I cut mats out of various pieces of cardstock from my stash. This is where I like to use up all those old sheets of paper and put them in my die cut and punched shaped box for use in projects.

Using pages out of an old book gives these elements a vintage look. Warning that some books are very brittle, if you use the papers you may need to attach to another piece for stability.

Adding lace to the elements seems to bring a little vintage charm as well. Don’t you agree?

Making a journal card with a pocket is also super cute. Great way to use up tiny bits of paper too.

One of my favorites in this set of Simply Spring Junk Journal Elements is the denim pocket with small journal card. I really like how this turned out. The denim and watercolor paper were leftover items from other projects. Feels good to use these in the project today.
