It is Tea Time. Today I’m sharing a new junk journal that I just love. The Tea Soiree Fabric Junk Journal, features Calico Collage Digital Journal Kit Tea Soiree, Canvas from Canvas Corp Brands and Tulip Dimensional Paint applied using the ScraPerfect Medium No Clog Writing Cap and scraps of fabric and lace from my stash.

Making the Tea Soiree Fabric Junk Journal was so much fun! This was one of those use up your stash projects. Digging through the scrap fabric stash was fun- some of the fabric was given to me and some was from grab bags at my quilt guild. However you get a hold of fabric, use it in your junk journals.

It has been a while since I printed on fabric and I knew it would be perfect for this journal. For this Junk Journal, I printed several images to be used. My method of printing on fabric is to use muslin ironed to freezer paper, then cut to 8.5 x 11 inches, lay under a heavy book for a few days. Then print the images using an INKJET printer. However, DON’T USE A LASER PRINTER. Remove the freezer paper backing gently, cut images and use as desired.

The cover of the Tea Soiree Journal is CANVAS (I kept saying muslin in the video – silly me) that I have sewed scraps of fabric and lace on top.

When closed the journal measures 6.5 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall and has 52 pages.

The lace look stencil is one I made and now offer in my shop. Then using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists I added a touch here and there with the stencil.

Some of the pages are my version of Frankenpages. Using pages out of a few old dictionaries sewed onto a piece of copy paper. The dictionary pages however, were very thin and I wanted a good foundation.

The pink pages inside the journal feature the Lace Stencil, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Rubber Stamping using Brutus Monroe Detail Ink.

Canvas from CCB was used as a base for a couple of the pages inside the Tea Soiree Fabric Junk Journal. Journal cards are stuck in a side pocket.

Tulip Dimensional Glitter Paint applied using the ScraPerfect Medium No Clog Writing Cap. The Cap has a very fine point and works perfectly with the Tulip Glitter Paint.

My neighbor is moving and as a result, she cleared out her sewing room, Sore for me! In her pile of goodies, she gave me several old patterns and I used some of the paper on journal cards. I love the texture it gives to items. Grab some papers and make something cool.

The words were created inside the Silhouette design software then printed on either cardstock or fabric using an inkjet printer. However, if you don’t have a silhouette, then try using a word processer to create word phrases. There is a tutorial on how I made this page.

The belly band is a portion of the Snippet Roll I created. It is beautiful, I’m glad there was enough to use inside the Tea Soiree Fabric Junk Journal.

Tea Soiree Fabric Junk Journal Tea Soiree Fabric Junk JournalEven though this journal has a soft fabric cover and a few fabric pages it lays flat. Having the journal lay flat makes it easier to write inside. Try using fabric however you like in your journals.

Using Calico Collage Digital images for junk journals makes the journal beautiful. These crisp unique images are truly amazing. Download and print at home or print at a local copy shop.
