Since I’ve made so many Gel Prints lately it is a good time to use those prints in projects like the Easy Bookmark Tutorial. Some of these Gel Prints are so beautiful that I decided to scan the images so I can use these over and over. Visit my shop to pick up a few of these Gel Prints that I’ve made into digital files.
Select a Gel Print or Scrapbook paper that will be the focal color of your bookmark. Choose cardstock that coordinates with the colors of your paper.
Cut the Cardstock 2.25 inches wide by 8.50 inches tall. Trim the gel print or scrapbook paper 2 x 8.25 inches.
Apply distress inks around all the edges of these pieces. Adhere gel print in the center of the cardstock bookmark base.
Choose a Calico Collage Inspirational ATC digital sheet, print the page as a 5 x 7 image. This will create the nine images as much smaller 1.5 x 2-inch images. Select an image and trim from the printed sheet. Cut a mat for this image 1.75 x 2.25 inches. Apply distress ink around the edges. Adhere these together and then adhere to the lower portion of the bookmark on top of the Gel Print.
Choose a Butterfly stamp or other small stamp and ink with Brilliance or other black ink and stamp on the bookmark in a pleasing arrangement.
Wasn’t that an Easy Bookmark Tutorial? Take it up a notch by sewing around the edge of the bookmark. Punch a hole and add ribbon. Once you make one you will see how easy these are and soon you will have a bunch to give as gifts.
