One of my followers on YouTube requested a special project. This is part one of that project, Tropical Tag Booklet Tutorial. In this tutorial, I’m sharing how to take leftover bits and pieces and make a tag booklet that will be used in a junk journal flip book.

Supplies Used for the Tropical Tag Booklet Tutorial

After digging around in my stash I found some leftover pieces from previous projects that I thought would work to make this Tropical Tag Booklet Tutorial.

The Cardstock had scuff marks on it, but I knew that these would be covered up and thought it was the perfect color for a Tropical Tag Booklet. I just love this shade of teal blue.

When I’m making projects I try to use as much of the pieces as possible, but sometimes there are bits that don’t get used in a project. I sort mine by color and/or theme. It was easy to pull items for this project because I made a couple of Mermaid Journals and put all the bits in one ziplock bag. It makes it so easy to use items when the items are stored together.

Play around with the bits to create new elements. Like the Mixed Media Gel Press paper, I turned into a pocket. Sometimes paper just needs to be folded and altered a little and it becomes a perfect element.

Sewing on paper gives a pretty detail that wouldn’t be there otherwise. I love the little strings that are left as it gives it a truly handmade look.

Stickers are another great item to use in projects like this one. Sometimes I forget to use the stickers, but I made sure to find spots for them in this project and I love how the surfboards look.
